Had 2 calls from this number within 10 minutes. Automated voice saying it was BT a mobile number, that I hadn't received the message. Not ringing any numbers, have blocked it.
All unrecognised numbers, including this one, go to voicemail. Where no message is left, calls are ignored. If someone is trying to send a text message to my landline, it's unsolicited and whoever sent it obviously doesn't know me.
Safe? That's not the point!! BT should stop it...........................now.
6 calls from this number so far today. I leave unanswered and no message left on answer machine . I do wish I could just get a few minutes face to face with this a******* caller. I'm working and he/she is becoming tiresome.
This is the BT text to voice reader service. If someone tries to send a text to your landline it will read it out for you. Unfortunately it does have a habit of dropping the line as soon as you answer, but it will call back later. It is safe.
08:30 was having a lie in. Did not get to answer before it stopped ringing. No message left on answer phone.
This number has called my landline twelve times today. Fortunately I am able to block calls without being interrupted. Surely it is possible to stop these scam calls
2 calls in 10 minutes on 2/6/22. Caller didn't wait for answering machine before ringing off - some weird people in this world.
Called me at 03.15 in the morning, didn't answer, obviously a scam call, number blocked.
Text message sent to my landline in audio translation. Thought it was a scam and picked up to have a game with the caller. Message said it was BT text messaging service and gave me the number that sent it. I carried on listening. Various options were provided including listening to the text, deleting, blocking and changing the time that the system can call. I carried on listening and the system just read out the text without me doing anything. Text was genuine. Gave my landline number when making an appointment and the message was confirming it
This number has called 8 times today. I suspect it’s a scam and haven’t answered it. But 8 times from the same number is just too much
As mentioned in other comments, the phone stops ringing when you pick up. Have now had 3 calla so far today and 2 yesterday. Absolutely annoying to say the least. No idea what it’s about. SMS? Message?
BT Messaging Service, as others have said before. You've received a text message on your landline and option 1 will get it read out to you. I believe you can set the times between which you receive these calls, so you should be able to get rid of those pesky late night/early morning calls. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm sure I heard something about it as I was deleting the message and hanging up.
Received a call today 7.30am, did not answer. Rang again 10 mins later so I did answer and it was genuine call informing me that Parcel Force were delivering a genuine order around 11.00 am that same day. The call did ask for me to press 1 to hear the message.
