01942 614100 Neutral Who called me from this phone number?

Pretty sure they are a meter reading company as got email 2 days ago asking for the same, from my actaul supplier N Power. Even the people who come round to read meters are a subsidery company that collects on the power suppliers behalf. Probably cheaper for them to do this.

Just had a phone call saying they were my energy company OVO. Wanted to arrange an appointment for tomorrow to fit a smart meter which I already have to which she was stunned and hung up

Caller said they were ringing on behalf of my energy company to get a meter reading. I was confused, as I'd only just sent one via the website, but as I still had it handy, I went to get it. Once I'd given the meter reading, the caller started asking for my address details, at which point I said I didn't want to continue the conversation and hung up.

Polite lady rang to ask for a meter reading on behalf of a new energy company. How did they know that I had just changed companies? Is there a way for fraudsters to gain access the Moneysupermarket comparison site that I had just used? I was asked what time of day I would be at home for a meter reader to call. This made me suspicious. Are they ringing on behalf of burglars, or what is their scam?

Feb 24 2016 - These people called my elderly (90's) mother saying they were her supplier and asked her to read her meters. she had a fall trying to do so. Ridiculous to do business like this. I rang nPower who said they had not made any calls to my mother. I've advised my mother to refer any such callers to me in future.

This phone number has ringed my mum up on 01942614100 but did not answer it what can we do about it

the work for number of companies as i was told and they said someone would call me back next few days. will ignore call

I've had 2 calls in 2 days from this number, but it just rang off quickly so I didn't get a chance to answer.

said they were from good energy and asked for meter readings and our address.

Just been called by these, asked for a meter reading, I'm with extra energy and then asked if the meters were easily accessible if an meter reading agent were to call and take the readings in the future. Confirmed this then let them know that as much as I was happy for this, my 2 labradors and doberman who are in the garden at random times throughout the day, may not be quite as pleased to see them as I would be...

I do not want marketing calls

Lowri Beck. This is a legit company that does meter readings. Unfortunately they require confirmation of first half of your postcode and house number as they cannot tell you for data protection reasons. This left me thinking that they are a phishing scam. However they already have the last half postcode and the meter numbers and my phone number and my name so the extra first half of the postcode is not exactly going to compromise me further.

Left me a voice mail saying Npower asked them to call me to collect meter reading. I submitted one via app last week??!! Blocked number and moved on!
