Made online purchase from Curry's and this number called a few hours later. Checked out number and found the info on this site. Looks like the scam has restarted.
Just placed and online order with Curry's . A few hours later I get a call from this lot. Surely Curry's should be stopping this type of scam
Pretending to curry’s trying request personal details and getting to me confirm my address and acting suspicious
I had bought an appliance from Currys at lunchtime and a man phoned and became very rude when I questioned what he wanted re the order and the delivery arrangements - he eventually hung up on me …
Didn't answer but I bought something from Currys. Something dodgy going on. How are they getting people's numbers? Contacting Currys to ask that question!
Hi all, thanks so much for this. I was suspicious so checked and exactly what other people describe (I just bought a freezer online) has happened here. Think Curry's should be aware since it seems to have been going on some time!!
I bought something from currys today early morning and saw two missed called from this number but after searching it and reading so useful comments here I know what's happening. It's a great site, proved to be v helpful.
Woman called me allegedly from Currys asking had I received my washing machine.I told her I hadn't ordered one but she insisted I contact customer Service.I asked what address it was being delivered to but said she could not divulge that information.I told her if she insisted on imposing the machine on me against my wishes I would have to sell it . The call came to an end and I still haven't received the washing machine, but I suppose I can live in hope.
Reading these replies it is abundantly clear someone is giving out customer details as I ordered an hour ago and then got called from this number. The Police need informed. Thanks for all your comments though community, so many avoiding this fraud by simply reading them.
I ordered yesterday and got the dispatch email today. I missed the call but have looked and saw all these comments. I feel like this should be something Currys should look into considering it’s been happening for 2 years now and he clearly has knowledge of who orders
Same here, spoke to someone in Curry's today and they said a customer of theirs brought this to their attention. maybe time we complained to Curry's as to where these guys are getting our details from.
This is still going on: I likewise bought a washing machine from Curry's yesterday and got a missed call from this number. I tried ringing back and it said 'no need to call back, we will contact you again'. Now I have blocked the number after reading these comments. I am alarmed to hear that all companies pass on details to third-party insurers! This has never happened to me before so I am a bit concerned about what Curry's are sharing.
Preordered a fitbit, got a missed call from this number who said it's Currys. Called Currys 0345 number and they said they knew nothing. Assuming they're trying to sell me more warranty like everyone else has said here.
Yep, ordered a d/washer from Currys and a couple of days later got a call from this number.
All companies pass on details to third party insurers. Washing machines, TVs, laptops are the items people spend money on for extended warranty. I would never do this over the phone and would be amazed if anyone was stupid enough to do so.
It's third party insurance companies who have access to the details about purchases from companies like Currys and are trying to sell you insurance or extended warranty. They should NOT be asking for bank details unless you are buying insurance. I suggest that you never give bank details to anyone over the phone anyway.
Didn’t answer this number as I didn’t recognise it. I recently bought a washing machine from Currys and now, after reading these comments, I’ll certainly be blocking it.
Same but I gave them my name and address until I knew it was a scam
Call from this number with them being very informal saying my name before I gave any details and also referencing the item i purchased from Currys. They asked about item and if i had it yet. They asked when being delivered and what time. I purposely gave them the wrong time and at that point it felt they pretended the call was being disconnected. I phoned currys to make sure was all ok with order and they felt it would have been someone from the 'back office'. Definitely sounds like currys are passing details on. Will submit a wee query when in the shop tomorrow.
2 missed calls from this number following buying a washing machine from Curry’s. After reading the below comments I’m glad I missed the calls and I will be blocking the number. Why has Curry’s not prevented this from happening yet?
Bought from Currys yesterday, ignored call today and then read these comments
I’ve just ordered from Curry’s so I’m assuming this may be same person calling me now as per others on here. I have not answered and will just block it. Why is this happening ? Is this someone working in Curry’s who seems to have information on peoples online orders ? Very strange
Just got a call trying to sell additional product cover. Just a point though they obviously got the info from currys because they knew what id ordered and the delivery details. So Currys must be selling our information without consent or theres a little check box we've all missed.
Same as other people reporting here. Ordered something from Currys yesterday, received missed call from that number today. Didn't try ringing back. Looked the number up, and found all these comments. Very confusing - some news articles say the calls are genuine even though Currys staff say they're not.
A company can and will ask for bank details over the phone if it is relevant and you are subscribing to a plan or service that requires a direct debit to be set up. Paper mandates are rarely sent out and it has been this way for years.
I just received a call there. I stupidly caught on late and gave him the basic info (name, address and the product I have purchased), as he then went on about a warranty I declined his offer and he seemed alright about that. Am I okay because I didn’t provide bank details despite what I had gave him beforehand?
I received loads of missed calls from this number and eventually it was someone claiming to be from curry’s offering extra warranty etc. Knew my details and what I bought but this phone number is NOT associated with curry’s! I spoke to someone at curry’s customer service and this number isn’t theirs and they have advised not to give any info and certainly not any money.
I just received this call and phoned Curry’s after reading these comments. They confirmed it was NOT a scam. The man on the phone knew the price of the item and the make and model as well as the delivery date and that I had requested recycling and installation. I had believed he had too much info for it to be a scam call. Curry’s confirmed I had the care plan added to my account and it was from them.
What did your bank do? I’m in same situation and have to call tomorrow’
They called and sold us a care plan for a dryer we recently had delivered from curry's. Thought it was too good to be true, we hadn't received any confirmation email a few hours later so contacted curry's and they said it wasn't them and they wouldn't have been calling us. Currently on phone to bank now.
I ordered a laptop from Curry's yesterday and have had several calls today from this number. I didn't answer and having seen previous comments have blocked this number.
This number called me and I gave them my postcode and confirmed what I had bought will anything happen? I did not confirm bank details
Currys pc world calling to let me know about items I ordered and what would happen on the day of delivery, calling to see if I wanted product protection, call centre based in the UK.
This number has just called me regarding an Apple Watch that I have just purchased yesterday. It was a man with some sort of English accent claiming he works with Curry’s PC world and wanted to provide me with information on when my item would be delivered. He wanted me to confirm my name and address then went on to ask if I wanted a warranty for the watch. I said no and instantly the call was disconnected. It worries me that this individual knew that I ordered and what I had ordered from this company and had my number to contact me. Always remember NEVER give away any of your bank details over the phone.
Don’t answer numbers I don’t recognise. In common with some of the entries above I also bought from curry’s recently.
I also Bought from Currys 2 weeks ago and have had a missed call from this number. Did not answer. Looked up as trusting nobody these days! Thank goodness I did.
Bought from Currys 2 weeks ago and have had a missed call from this number. Did not answer. Looked up as trusting nobody these days! Thank goodness I did.
Same comments as above, recently ordered an Apple Watch a few weeks ago, I’m glad I’ve not answered but they have phoned me at least 3 times a day!! Absolute chancers. I’ve contacted curry’s personally to ask how the information could have possibly been passed on.. no answer yet. NO COMPANY SHOULD ASK FOR BANK DETAILS OVER THE PHONE PLEASE DON’T ANWSER.
PC world, trying to sell you an extended warranty. Even if you have already bought a warranty. Just say you already bought one, and click, they're gone.
As above, woman with an English accent claiming to be from Currys, asked for my details, I think I only caught on quite late though. I called it off when I felt they were going to start asking for bank details for a care and protect plan. Remember that no company will ever ask for your bank details through phone number. I already regret even giving them my number.
Ditto above. English accent from this number. His patter was rubbish wanting bank details etc. So binned him and found this. Scam or not, wasn't sure. But glad I found this.
Just received a call from this number. Didn’t answer but looked it up and noticed the above comments. Funnily enough I ordered from curries/pc world yesterday. I guess the scammers were trying their luck with me also. Perhaps curries/pc world should warn their customers.
As per previous posters, I received a call from a man on this number claiming to be Currys PC World regarding my delivery (I had just ordered something for delivery from them yesterday). He said he was going to go through what would happen on the day, and give me a specific delivery window. He asked me to confirm various pieces of personal information to confirm that I was in fact the person who had ordered. I asked him why this info was required. He mumbled that it was a follow-up call from Currys and explained that I didn't have to give the information if I didn't want to. He asked again for the info. When I challenged him the next time, he disconnected on me. I contacted Currys via Facebook Messenger, and they confirmed they don't have this number. As mentioned above, it was a male with an English accent, calling from a Glasgow number, which isn't always suspicious but was with the rest of the call!
The call apoeared to be from Currys PCWorld about a freezer I bought, being delivered tomorrow. Except he wasn't t telling me anything about the delivery but was trying to sell me a longer care and protect plan, then asked for my bank details. I said no, and he said he would look up my records and didnt come back. I was a bit suspicious hearing a Birmingham or Liverpool accent from a Glasgow phone number.

Foreign woman from sky network, I hung up. Definitely a scam!
I've been billed £5.40 for 2 calls to this number which I am told is premium rate on 2nd May 2026. I do not believe...
didn't get to answer call but left voicemail saying nothing so known to be expected spam
Annoying spam from idiots
They said they were from a car finance repayment scheme. I’ve never had a car on finance.
