Terrible advice. Scammers use ghost numbers to look like someone else. Don't buy anything over the phone

01709242673 Genuine Vodaphone caller. I checked the official site and had a chat with a person who confirmed genuine.

Caller claimed to be from Vodafone . Offered new package and asked for my bank details.

Missed call on my mobile. No message left. Blocked and reported.

First received a call from this number yesterday, a further two calls today. Icaled them back after the second call I relieved and there was utter silence.

DIDNT ANSWER IT.

This is a trustworthy number. Its Vodafone special offers team. If you Google “Is it Vodafone calling?” it will take you to the Vodafone website and then you can enter the number that called you and it will then tell you if the number is a legitimate Vodafone number.

Phoned them back from my alternative number (Rogers, a Canadian provider) but they did not catch on, still claimed to be Vodafone. Rotherham number used belongs to AQL Wholesale, a Leeds based company who sells numbers to all and sundry including scammers!!!!!

Called and hung up as I answered. The reason this happens is its a computerized automatic dialing system designed to find out who's eager enough to return calls, then there half way there as they already have your interest. Anyways back to the caller, I rang back and a woman answers saying it was Vodafone and, I politely said NOT INTERESTED and Hung up. All crime is wrong but these people have no souls, they could be taking a terminally ill persons last holiday Money or a pensioners life savings. I implore everyone else to leave comments and help others stay safe. Be good to each other and god bless.

Genuine sounding lady called claiming to be vodafone offering a better deal to save money on payg. Sent a text with a code to verify they were actually vodafone on the same number vodafone uses to confirm payg payments. Asked for details before asking for bank details. Said I didn't have those so she gave me her name and set up a call back time. Sent another text saying who I had been talking with and when we agreed they'd call back and emailed saying my account had been changed. This is a scam although it seems legit. Block this number.

number called at 09:59 this morning. number not recognised at all. possibly a scammer.

Called the number back. They claimed to be Vodafone but after I told them I am actually one of the managers of the telecommunications fraud and scams department, they quickly informed me they were working for someone who works at Vodafone. They are offering cheap tariffs to all payg customers. TOTAL SCAM. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

So, this is genuine vodafone number belong to vodafone but still the number might be spoofed and used by some fraudsters to look like they make a call from vodafone to offer a phone plan (to get someones bank card details).

"23 Sep 2021 They called me knew my full name. Said they from vodaphone want to offer me a better deal". If they knew your real name and if you are using vodafone network or you moved your phone number from vodafone to other telecom provider then it might be someone who is working in the vodafone and have access to the customers database. Might be a malicious insider employee or group of them (if call centre is based abroad they have access to databases of customers and it alsa might be leaked and exploited by scammers). They can use that personal info to target customers with a various scam schemes after work. Never give any of your bank details or other personal info by phone to anyone. Phone contracts should be done only in store with a written confirmation or from telecom genuine website by logging into account. Also some personal info might be leaked by installing malicious apps onto mobile phone when application permission is giving access to a personal data on the phone itself.

Missed two calls from this nunber. Very few people know this number and i have rheir names programmed in, this is an unkown number from Rotherham and im in margate kent, so i suspect it to be a scam.

Said that they were representing Vodafone. They wanted to help me to get a better deal. I politely declined.

I don't recognise this number but they keep calling and bothering me which I don't want to answer, must be a scam.

I have received a call from this number today. I did not answer it. After checking this number on this portal I have blocked it. I wonder why the police cannot go to the location where this spam number is registered to and shut them down? This nuisance has been going on for a while.

We can give you a better deal. Knew my name. Claimed to be Vodafone. "We will give you the same deal for £6.00 if you go by Direct Debit!" Told the lady that I don't do transactions over the phone. I said I'd go into my local store! "Oh you won't get the deal in store!" Well now you are blocked and reported! Scamming shitbags!!!!💩

Obviously sus caller, the ones I usually get apparently originate from Luton so I appreciate the change. They hung up so I don't know what kind of scam they intended to try.

Having read the comments it makes perfect sense. If you buy some kind of add on from Vodafone, they somehow find out and try to sell their product to you. NOT Vodafone.

Has phoned me twice, once yesterday and then again just now. After reading above comments, highly recommend avoiding and blocking!

Received call from this number on Friday 22 April 22 at 10.52am Now blocked number.

One a day, early morning. Hang up soon as I answer. I am wise to all the scammers and sometimes like to wind them up. In this case, I have now blocked them.

Claims to be Vodafone. They keep calling trying to sell me a contract in order to "save" me money because according to them I pay a lot. DON'T tell them you'll think about it, otherwise you'll be inviting yourself to a barrage of unsolicited calls.

The call was received on my mobile, the number of which is known only to about half a dozen people, no more, i.e. family, so obviously the number was dialled randomly. No message was left so obviously a spam call.

A Hang up caller called 3 times in 20mins, they only let the phone ring twice on all 3 occasions so I assume they wanted me to call them back... But I don't do calls unless I really can't avoid them, so that wasn't happening!

01709 is the area code for Rotherham so not all calls from this area are nuisance calls

Called me a few times this week even tho woman sounds real she ain’t, called her out n she acted like she is really was Vodafone. She wants to save u money on big value bundles. SCAM

Man with a welsh accent claimed to be calling from vodafone. A minute later got a message from vodafone saying my account had been changed.

As with all unknown numbers I very rarely answer the call unless it's a company who I trust or are with. If anyone has a facility to blacklist this number do so as they won't get through

Scammer told me they want to upgrade my pay and go to pay monthly, news flash Vodafone done that 2 weeks ago, when I asked for her name and where she was they hang up, number now blocked

If they are claiming to be from Vodafone tale it with a pinch of salt. My number starts 07717 which were allocated to Vodafone so odds are you are still with them

Had a call from this number today claiming to be vodaphone, said sort of nonsense stuff, I knew it wasn't a vodaphone person because they kept saying 'pay in go' instead of 'pay as you go' and nobody who works for a phone company would ever say that!!! This number rang me at approximately 14:00 on Tuesday afternoon and I answered out of pure curiosity as hardly anyone has this new number that I'm aware of. A woman spoke and said something inaudible followed by "how are you today" I asked where she was calling from and she hung up.
