It was an AI managed computer caller, using a man's recorded voice, supposedly to arrange a conversation about switching to SSE for your energy needs, even though SSE have now sold their retail business to OVO and no longer sell to end customers. They're looking to set you up a call with an "energy advisor", so it's presumably all part of a scam to build your trust and get you to provide personal information or credit card / bank account details.
