Woman knew my name and address and said it was about appliance insurance.
Hard to tell what it was about as from a noisy call centre and I was on a noisy bus, but they knew my name and address. They said something about a maintenance/repair contract that they said I had. I have no such contract. This was on a Thursday. The same number had called me twice on the Monday before but these had both rung off before I could respond.
Fake insurance scammer, fortunately number blocked by me and Hiya already, so didn't get through. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!
This number tried to call multiple times.
Called 29.01.26 in the morning. Previously called 19.12.25. Both times no message left on answering machine. Another moronic time waster.
I am registered with the TPS, so, at best, this was an unwanted nuisance call. The female caller asked for my husband; she said it was about insurance cover for his electrical items & was offering a special price. She got no information from me & hung up!
Time wasters are back again. No message left on answering machine.

Overseas caller, knew my name and address. Claiming to be calling about home electronic/gadget insurance renewals. When I asked, which appliance would that be for then? Answer - er, all of them.. Definite scammer. Thank you to whatever company has provided my name, address and phone number to criminals!
This is why my landline is protected by BT Call Protect; it stops these scumbags annoying me and lets me block their number, so they have to try using a different number which gets blocked if they don't identify who they are and who they want to speak to.
Offering 35% discount on my appliance insurance. But wanted to know my bank account sort code. At this point I terminated call. Possible next question would have been account number.
Asian male voice asking to speak to named occupant. Claimed to be from Home Appliance Care
Asking wether our electrical gadgets were working okay
Non-English accented male advising that my "internet account has been hacked" and tried to persuade me that by "accepting a code we send to your mobile" that " ... everything would be put back to normal". Yeah, right. Closed call; managed to resolve the VoIP server details & forwarded on to Ofcom/some techie mates over in Cheltenham. Phrases relating to excrement and air movement devices come to mind ;-)
