Caller claimed to be from Amazon and tried to elicit my account details at which point I hung up.

Scam! Said from Amazon and wanted me to go into my account to check settings and make adjustments! Call recorded from that point. I strongly suspect that the main purpose of the call was for them to record me saying “YES” as this can be used later in voice-pattern fraud. Never give a direct yes or no answer. Be evasive and always ask “why would I do that” or “why is that relevant” or “tell me why” - anything but the ‘closed’ response they might be looking for to record. I closed the call with “send me written instructions from a verifiable source”.
