Yes, my 97 year old father had one appear on his laptop today. Fortunately he call me asking if it was a scam. He restarted the laptop ignoring the message and it disappeared.
just had similar thing happen to my laptop. tried to get us to pay for firewall and when i said we couldnt afford it and i would get my son to look at it he took the virus thing off and cut the call off
A virus caused my PC to freeze on 8/Sep/2025 with an instruction to call Microsoft on 08004045634. It turned out not to be that company but they did unfreeze, and possibly remove the virus after I had given them remote access. During the call my banks reported 4 attempts to withdraw sums to pay Argos, Nike and others. Broken calls were reconnected to 07481579559
