They called me today to tell me my smart meter was faulty. They couldn’t tell me who my supplier was. Told them to bugger off. Yet another waste of time scammer
Had a call from a chap with a very difficult accent to check a date and time to change my meter. When I said I was not the bill payer he hung up abruptly confirming my suspicion it was some sort of a scam.
Claimed to be from our energy supplier but, when pressed, couldn't say which one it was. Became aggressive.
They say that they are calling from the National Grid Department to change the electric meter and pass you on to a Senior Executive Team Member once they think they have you hooked.
Called to say the meter was going to be replaced in a few weeks' time (get similar calls very frequently). Gave me a number for the new meter and asked me to write it down (with a very thick accent), then asked me to repeat it back to him. When I began "AU", he responded "Are you stupid? It's EU", then asked if I was the billpayer, then hung up when I said I wasn't.
Had two phonecalls from this number saying I have a faulty smartmeter which needs replacing. They cannot tell me the meter serial number or which account it is associated with. He pressured me to make an appointment but I said I couldn't as I needed to know which building it referred to (we are a business) and wanted to make sure the rooms were unoccupied on the day. He told me it wasn't a problem and the engineer would bring a generator. When I said I couldn't have a random man walking around a toddler group he got all huffy. He said he would email me the information (nothing came) Today I asked them to do it all by email and he snapped at me and said we will disconnect you as you have a faulty meter and hung up. If he told me the account number or meter reference we could have proceeded. If he had emailed me we could have proceeded. As he was unable to do either this is a SCAM
I can see someone is saying something about Eric that this guys is very agressive i totally deny that thing i am not agreed with you he is such a nice guy he is with me about 2 years and he helped me out for many things regards about my electric and gas account not only electric and gas he has been looking for all my accounts like my business accounts my energy account and many more of my businessi don't know how you can say he is agressive guy i haven't seen any calm man like him. so who is saying anything wrong about him it means they don't know anything about him they are just talking whatever comes in their mind he is very good Energy broker he helped me out a lot of time if anyone would be having issue regards about energy accounts he can sort out their problem and he is very cooperating guy. so don't just talk non sense anything about such a great guy. and his full name is Eric Lucas.
Claimed to be from energy supplier - when pressed said they were from Scottish Power I do not have an account with that company - I told them this - and asked for their phone number and the persons name, she said that she was Sarah and they their number was 02080978206 I marked this as a spam but it may have been a scam
Told me the meter was broken and they needed to fix it - utter nonsense.
Tried to say there was a problem with my meter and wanted to change it and got very aggressive when I was not interested in listening to him
Said they were from British Gas and needed to speak to the account holder. When I told him we didn't have an account with them he insisted we did!!
Pretended to be EDF changing my meter. EDF confirmed not their team.

Called once. Phone said suspected scam so I didn't answer
They say they EDF but when I call EDF, they say to me there’s no outbound phone calls to you so clearly they are...
Answer phone lasted 1 second. No message.
Spam caller posing as “council” however will not state which supposed ‘council’ they are calling from when asked....
