Horrible, pushy scammers claiming to be Tesco and stating that my SIM is due to be cancelled.
Claimed to be from O2 and told me my O2 sim was being shut down in the next few days. Attempting to offer me an alternative. Odd as I am not with O2!
Caller claiming to be from 3. In short a scam avoid.
Said they where from 3 and that they where shutting down 3g and 4g networks and that they would send out a new simcard. They wanted my email to confirm. I said: I'm not giving out anything to you.
Same experience as others here. He wanted my email address so I said sure it's, [email protected], he said whattt, I repeated it and hung up.
Rang back! Twice in one day! (See above). This time wanting to offer me a new sim with a lower price as I am entitled to 30% off for 6 months (obvs not been paying attention to his mate offering me 12 months earlier this morning). To check I am the account holder, he requested my email address. Asked him to verify that he has my address already, and even part of my eamail "as I have so many accounts I'm not sure which one". "It's your 3 Network email address. Ends in 3 Network." he tells me. Told him I don't use that address as I use other addresses. "Okay Sir" he lost interest and hung up on me! Cheek. I suspect they have my number off an old contract and banking on gaining a email login by full email address and phone number to work on gaining access.
I never answer unknown calls - if they need to speak to be legitimately they will leave a voicemail. From the previous reports this is a scammer so I have blocked the number
Claims to be on "3 Network" and offering me 30% off my mobile phone bill. I am not on 3 but was a number of years ago. Asian/Indian accent, sounds dull and bored, churning through the numbers in a mind drummingly dross scam. This fella ain't going to get an Academia Award for acting, voiceover work or even a girlfriend with a voice like that. Tells me as I've been loyal and paying my bill, he can give me 30% off for the next year. Confirms the end of my phone number. Then asks me if I know how much I pay. Challenged him with "well, you're offering me 30% off my contract, so you must know how much I've loyally been paying." He can't answer, keeps trying to ask me if I know how much I'm paying....... He gets frustrated knowing that his on a crap script with a crap scam on someone who has already seen "Potential Scam" on their phone and not dumb enough to fall for it.
Potential scam / fraud call. My android phone automatically displayed the number as "potential fraud". Caller had some vague story about him phoning about my account...
