Caller said he was from Thames Water, that my plumbing was under contract with them and due for renewal at a discounted rate. All good so far. He knew my name and address and then asked me for my bank sort code. I refused to give it to him and when he asked why, I said he called me, I was trusting who he said he was but I never give my bank details over the phone. He became aggressive and said I couldn’t get the discount without confirming my bank details…he said he could give me the sort code - again my answer was NO. He swiftly hung up on me. Good riddance!
