Called today and as 0844 number itwas clealry Spam nit calling it back

Didn't even phone long enough to make my mobile ring - just enough to register as a missed call. Presumably a premium rate number that relies on people phoning them back to be charged for the call. It's not solicited, makes no attempt to actually connect, and is just trying to get you to spend money trying to identify them. Surely this is illegal? And if it isn't, with an election coming up, I'd be tempted to vote for someone who said they would MAKE it (and similar scams) illegal and/or give the police the resources to shut them down and lock up those making money from it.

I just had a missed call from this number and haven't called back as I don't trust these numbers. I looked it up on Google and got this page, so just wanted to report it. From the looks of the other comments it want's you to call it back - so I wont!

Phone rang twice and stopped. Call from 0844 648 0246 which I didn't recognise. I never call back unrecognised numbers on the basis they are usually scammers or similar, as appears to be the case. Scammer seems to be using computer generated random number dialling because this number is only given to a very select few.

08.17 rang once then hung up - idiots - I don't ring back ever on the basis that if it's important they'll leave a message which I'll also ignore!

Had a missed call did not leave any message so I ignored it most likely spam.

Received missed call from this number. I am very careful who I share my mobile number with, so would like to know how they got my number. It's very annoying. I never return calls from numbers I don't recognise. It's a mugs game.
