Glad to read the posts. It doesn't surprise me that this could be Eon, as they keep ringing me from different numbers about a smart meter which is not wanted or needed at this address.
They said they were from E.on then I stupidly gave my address and then straight away she said I’m sorry I got to put you on hold ? Then after 2 mins cut me ? I hope I haven’t been scammed .
Not sure who it is but as soon as I coughed (because I know they can record the words now and misuse it) they played a weird tone. Sounds like they were hacking into the phone whilst I wait on the line. Probably best to hang up immediately if they dont say “hello”
I've worked in customer service multiple times, one thing I've been told which is common sense is not to spam our customers with calls, maximum I'd call is 2 times for a single customer then stop. Whoever's number this is has been calling everyday for the past few weeks which is 100% a scam. They claim to be e-on which is fake because their number isn't on e-ons website + they wouldn't be calling everyday. One thing to note is spammers can make their numbers look the same of a legitimate company number so be wary. Lets put it this way, if someone calls you and you're not sure who it is, always be wary, don't give your details, they should know your details. It's best to call the company back from the numbers on their website and deal with everything that way.
this number keep calling me, claims to be Eon Next. Some times when i answer they just end the call without speaking. I have also been asked to confirm my name and details which i reply if you are calling me you should know. Just become really irritating. Have now blocked the number.
No it isn't. They claimed to be my power supplier but that is Octopus. Clearly a scam.
This number been phoning no message left so can't answer or return call.i don't know am with eon.they contact me by email.the same I do.so be safe n keep checking the comments.tank you for sharing.
This is the debt department of Eon Next. They call a million times because it’s on an auto dial for accounts that are in debt. Fortunately once I proved I didn’t owe them anything (by emailing Eon Next directly) they called to confirm they had received it and haven’t called since.
calling my mobile several times a day. leaving voicemails. NOT AN EON NUMBER. frankly getting P*** off at this now. SCAM SCAM SCAM
I had this confirmed, and paid a bill, these messages are worrying people needlessly this IS Eon it is valid legal number not a scam
Eon responding to a customer service query I made
There’s a man called Ishmael keeps ringing on this number he is now blocked !
this was genuinely Eon next and not a scam. I had sent an email to get them to fit a smart meter. They phoned me on from this nubmer to arrange the date and time for the fitting, the could clearly see my details and my previous corresponsdance with eon and sorted it all out for me. I am sure they sometimes call about direct debits etc whch are unwanted calls but the number is genuine.
They are calling me daily. It is a recorded message when you answer saying they are 'Eon Next'(???) and I have to press 1 to speak to them. I am not pressing 1. XXX
Glad read these statements,,Thanks everyone for heads up ,,,never answered, And wont be .
This is eon phone number 0808 501 5200 very similar but definitely a scam as its same person who keeps ringing me a lady with a thick south African accent and also had the cheek to leave a voicemail too.

Have rung a number if times and I haven't answered as don't recognize number. They don't leave message so obviously not important. Blocked!
Received another call from this number today - this time they left a message. Very strong accent and ringing from a call centre so it was difficult to make out. Caller stated they were calling from somewhere which sounded like Yonny (EON something) regarding our energy account. Caller did not specify which type of energy. Caller gave this number to ‘ring back as soon as you receive this message’. Ignored and deleted.
The caller claimed to be from EonNext. The background noise indicated it was a call centre. The lady caller had a South African accent and confirmed she was in South Africa. She asked me for security details and I refused to give any. She said she could not proceed with the call. I explained that I did not give personal details to unknown callers.
Bloody annoying..... When will there be a system to search these people out and take them 1) off air for good 2) take them for every penny they have?
This is E.ON Next bloody scammers. They have been spamming my mailbox for over a month now and even blocking them doesn't help. They are so annoying. (London)
Scammer(?) claiming to be Eon. Would not relate our account number for verification purposes He was told to go forth and multiply!
Called me several times! It's EON wanting to increase DD payments ( I believe). Just a quick note DD payments are one of the most exspensive ways to pay as the tarriff they put you on apparently costs upto £1500 a year more. This was on BBC News last week did not see the whole interview but it was from a money Guru. DD also EON took £1295 out of my account, dont like the fact that companies can do that so cancelled them and got my cashback via the bank, unauthorized payments. Don't need to be watching my finances every day!!
Didn't answer but it rang for bloody ages.
Received 2 calls from them. I think it’s a scam as they said it’s from eon but on the eon website it doesn’t really say anything about this number. A bit unsure in wether it’s eon or not. They called twice and at first, I didn’t pick up then the second time I picked up and said Hello and this man spoke very fast and said he’s from eon and wanted to speak to me about my bills or something. Very dodgy as I have paid?!
Scum - though this is probably being monitored. They're claiming I haven't paid bills - I haven't received any! A scam in one sense: want the world to go direct debit electronically. Trying to complain to general ombudsman - even that lot want "cookies". Hope Starmer will nationalise utilities - you have more faith in one provider.
Claimed to be from Eon Very tinny, poor quality call. Suspected scam
Phoning up to 5 times a day I do not answer
Claimed to be from eon and asked straight away for my address etc to confirm my identity. Have blocked them.
No idea they called and left a blank message for nearly 1minute. Shall not be returning.
Thought it was Norman Collier on answer machine suspicious in my mind!
