These people claim to be from 02 offering you a new mobile telephone. They called me this morning and asked if I needed a new telephone to which I said yes I do as soon as I said that he seemed more interested in getting my bank details than selling me the phone. I interrupted him and asked if he was going to ask me for my three digit security code to which he replied yes but that I wouldn't have to tell him over the phone but to type it into the keypad on my phone .. Even so they can still tell what numbers you press by the sound of the tones on the keys. When I told him my partner had my bank card and he was out he persisted in asking me to check if it was in my purse , I don't think a genuine 02 representative would ask these sorts of things. He seemed very keen to get my details and I could hear how disappointed he was when he realised he would not be getting them. Another thing was he was trying to hard to sound like a professional he was clearly using words that are probably not in his everyday vocabulary, a lot of long pauses in between sentences if he does this for a living the words should be flowing from his mouth with ease but I could hear he was struggling. My advice is if this number rings you just hang up, as tempting as it may sound its a scam they are scumbags!
