029 2222 9992 Negative Who called me from this phone number?

This was a call from Eon Next regarding my energy account. I had emailed them with a query, so they responded via telephone. All above board.

This was a very pleasant call from the NHS conducting a survey about AIDS in snails and women.

I've refused to answer this having suspected it was a scam or hassle call re; unwanted smart meter. No message is left so I will continue to block/ignore calls from this number.

We received a call today and our answer machine picked up but the call was terminated by the caller without any message. Is this a "Cold Call?" As I understand the UK law it is a crime to do Cold Calls so if this is the case how do we sue the caller?

Claimed to be e-on about a smart meter for gas. They have tried this for over a year now trying to bribe with a free costa coffee and now are trying to bully us. We have refused point blank all year. They can shove the smart meter where the sun wont shine

Caller wanted to fit a smart meter. Said it would do both Gas and Electic for Eon next. I told her that was interesting since Eon didn't provide my gas but happy to have a smart meter for gas. She was a little confused, and a little more when I explained I already had a second series smart meter. So, in summary, there is either incompetence on the part of a energy provider or, more likely, the callers agenda was other than honest. The recording makes interesting listening...... And what do you think?

Phoned 4 times in 3 days did not answer. Woke my 86 year old mother up twice. Obvious scam

Was this call really Eon/next ,or a scam,the accent is similar to other scam calls.

eon pestering all the time by phone,texts and emails. Have told them I don't want one and don't have to have one.Which part of FO don't they understand.

Claimed to be from E ON ,harassing late night phone calls.Complain to customer services,and change supplier.

Caller claimed to be from eon next enquiring about the fitting of a smart meter. Scammer with very loud voice.

Call from Reece states from my energy supplier Eon which is not my supplier asked had I recently changed but haven't and said he should have known that as I don't have bills from them also asked how he got my number as X directory and he put the phone down on me very concerning practice from this company

Keep getting calls from 0292222 number but I never answer numbers I don't recognize but did this evening ,the woman on the phone seemed a bit abrupt and telling me I need a smart meter ,only then I knew it was eon.started to ask personal questions first so I put phone down , don't trust em

+442922229992 number keeps calling enon wanting me to have a smart meter, as i had to have one as its part of the fixed rate I signed up for, nothing highlighted this at the time of contract. I dont want one installed, they a right pain, surely having a smart meter installed isnt madatory like they are stating, fed up of the hassle :(

Did not answer, never answer unknown numbers and they leave no message. Like others, suspect it is EOn re smart meters. fed up of their constant texts, emails, calls. I DO NOT want a smart meter. They should be prosecuted for harassment of customers, use real bullying tactics. Bet avoided, let them waste their time and effort.

A call from someone claiming to be our energy provider then said they were from EOn. Wanted date from us so that a smartmeter could be fitted. My wife firmly told them no, we don't want one. We'll block the number.

Someone called Jaye called, claiming to be from "Midland Claims". He had a very strong London accent, and I had to ask him to repeat himself several times, each time repeating in exactly the same way as before! I told him I was not interested, and could hear him continue to babble on incomprehensibly at the other end. Finally I thanked him for the call and rang off.

Kept ringing

As this came up on my companies phone, I won't answer any unknown number. Obviously someone is selling phone lists to suspect companies.

Called whilst I was out. On coming back I checked my phone for any missed calls, on checking this number , this number alone gives out scam signals, only 3. numbers used.

Its not actually E.On its another company called Firstsource who try to make you think they are E.On, Basically they try to get you to fit a new smart meter making out your old one is faulty. Best advice i can give is hang up and block them. If you do have a smart meter problem contact your supplier direct.

Eon AGAIN!!!! Smart meter AGAIN!!!! How many times does this company need to be told. I told you 2yrs ago, old walls too thick, meters too far apart = no signal. The engineer you sent agreed. Bordering on harassment.

Cold called me. Looked up number to find it's Eon Next. Probably wanting me to have a Smart Meter, I have already been told by Eon Next engineer I can't have one until the fuse box and electric meter are moved. This was reported to Eon Next. Still get letters asking to arrange a Smart Meter instillation, which I now ignore. Contacted Eon Next and informed Eon Next the inspection revealed it can't be fitted. The customer adviser informed me that I wouldn't be contacted again. Seven days later I had a letter letting me know the instillation would be in my area and could I arrange a day that they could fit a Smart Meter. I've stopped answering this number but would like to take this opportunity in wishing the Eon Next staff a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I bet their staff get calls from this number

Claimed to be from Microsoft…obvious scam or worse. Female operator became extremely verbally aggressive when asked if she was based in Britain.

I am registered with E.on Next not to be contacted with Smart meter information and requests to move to a smart meter. Why do they insist to ignore my requests and continue to spam me by phone call, text and email every week? This is nothing short of harassment and should be illegal. They need their numbers blocked

EON unwanted call trying to force (not asking) smart meter which we don’t want. Refused to remove our phone number from their database. They are scum.

Suspect this may be EoN trying it on with a 3rd party calling agency to persuade me to instal one of their 'dumb' meters. They have been told in wrtiing and by phone that I do not want any of their con-merchant deals and would prefer my meter readings to be done by me and not some unreliable robot which can go on fire, bill me inappropriately, not work, cause network problems etc.

Assuming this is Eon, they have already sent two engineers to my home to fit smart meters. First one panicked when he found out that we had a back-boiler and did not want to fit one. The second one was very helpful, although very late, and advised that he could not guarantee that the back-boiler would re-start after fitting a smart meter and that it would be very expensive to repair/replace. There was also an occasion when an engineer did not turn up at all. We have received small monetary credits for this and the late arrival. However, Eon should know our situation and stop pestering us about fitting a smart meter that they say must have fitted as we am now on a fixed tariff.

Call went to voice mail but no message left. Assume from comments on here it was Eon trying to coerce me into getting a smart meter. In recent weeks they've also written to say they've made an appointment (without my consent) for one to be fitted. Just ignored this. Will now post news of these call scams to as many sites as I can find.

Based on messages above, must have been EON pressurising me about smart meter. No message left and have no blocked the number as I really don't want / need a smart meter and I don't have to accept one.

E.On. Just remember that smart meters are NOT compulsory and your meter is not unsafe. They are lying to you and you should block the number.

Called the mobile, didn't answer. Recently been moved to E-On who are hassling me to have a smart meter. Which part of 'NO THANKS' don't they get! Blocked.

Why is this number ringing me , and how did it get my number?

The people calling from this number are trying to scam you into getting a smart meter - which you don't want as it will allow Eon and the government to spy on you and disconnect your electricity on a whim. My advice is to block this number or if you answer just tell them to FO!

Scammer block it. Someone pushing smart meters would actually know that 2G will soon be phased out, and 3G in due course, and there is little point in fitting 2G meters now. 2G meters will have to be replaced. They should also know who is paying to power the meter (not us!) and to understand and be able to provide a VPN for the connection and an RF filter for protection. (PS If offering a 4G meter, they should also know whether 4G cover is available at your location - if not then call their bluff!)

They called both mobile and landline. Didn't pick up either call and they left no message. Have now blocked from both phones

Eon tried calling, wise to the number. we live in the sticks with poor mobile signal so unable to use a smart meter Eon know this but still persist in ringing us.

Rang to say an appointment was needed to fix my smart meter that doesn't work. They told me to ring 0808 501 5200 (E-on Next) to make the appointment which I did. When I got through I was told that they had no record of the call, it must have come from E-on Energy. After a long arguement I gave up.

E.ON pushing smart meters. Been nagging me with letters, emails and phone calls for 2 years. I ignore all. Not interested in a smart meter that can be remotely cut off, hacked, stops working, catches fire etc. The government can stick it up their 'arris, not having one. My old meter runs like a clock and will likely run another 100 years. If mine needs replacing then they can swap like for like or stop billing me. My house, my rules. Not paying for batteries for their bloody monitor either.

I have recieved a call from this number today, a couple of weeks ago i had a conversation with someone who wanted access to my property to change the meter. I contacted EON and they confirmed that was not anything wrong with the meter and they did not know why I had had that call.

How can they visit in a global pandemic? Don't allow them in the house, or anywhere near you.

Phoned me then rang off when I answered Phoned 45 mins later. Left message I could not hear. Something abut problem with installation and to phone 0800 015 6812 to arrange visit to property to replace. No idea if scam. I will not be responding but a worry in case there is a problem with something unknown!!

Called me today, I ignored but found out who it was by looking on this site. They have tried to bully me for last 2 years. One of their meter readers told me that a smart meter would not work in my house because the gas and electric metres are too far apart and the stone walls in between too thick. I've also quoted the government paper issued originally about the roll-out of smart metres, which anyone can view on-line, that clearly states that if an individual does not want one, they don't to have one...end of conversation.

Been pestering me for over 18mths, was quiet for the last few week's but started up again. Email's, text's and now this number again, not interested don't want smart meter never will...... blocked again!

Great Conversation(2hrs while cooking din dins) about the benefits of dum dum meters for the power companies. NOT THE CUSTOMER. Told them I'm the customer and I'm always right 🤣. Due to covid 19. im unable to carry out independent research unti a vaccine is available. So call again in 2022.
