Messaged from a non-iPhone and said “hello, is that X?” (My first name). I replied yes but then looked it up because it felt suspicious. Anyone in my circles contacts people via WhatsApp.

same as the others the text asked if it was me by first name. after searching the number online and seeing these reports, ive blocked it and deleted it.

Same as others using my first name (but not the name people call me) I ignored the first message and the got a follow up message 5 days later following up to see if it was me. Number blocked

Same experience as everyone else. Txt message saying “hi, is that (the name)”, follow by a separate txt with just a question mark.

I recieved the “Hi is that xxx” then a follow up message “is that you” 2 weeks later.

Same as others - text saying "Hi, is that [my name]. Blocked. Thanks to the other reports.
