Gentleman with Indian accent who called himself "Liam". The call came up being from Northern Ireland. Said British Gas Lite want to change our meter and he needed to get the details and arrange the appointment as we owed over £6K. I told him we didn't owe any money and to go away and get the details of the meter himself and to call me back once he could tell me the meter number he was referring to. He called me back within half an hour. He gave a meter number which we had previously been paying for (but was not ours and the subject of a long standing complaint with British Gas) so he sounded genuine - he had my name, company name. mobile number and the meter number that had previously been under dispute. I told "Liam" I would sort it out with British Gas directly. I contacted British Gas directly and they confirmed to me via email that no-one from British Gas meter department had called me. This is obviously a scam.
Foreign accent. Caller claimed to be from the National Grid saying they need to exchange our meter and gave us a raft of information. He asked for name, mobile number and name of business. Told him he would know the name of our business and told him once he has sent us out a letter to our home address we would have a look at it. Sounded quite convincing but asking me too many question about things they should know anyway.
Indian man claiming to have authority to install a smart meter at our business. Got quite agitated when I asked him to prove who he was, then hung up.
Scammed our business today claimed to be just eat
Called my restaurant claiming to be from Just Eat (who we are partnered with). Informed me I was paying too much commission, and that he can reduce it. Obvious scam (deal with scam callers on a daily basis) so I feigned interest and then hung up and blocked him.
rude man has called 4 times in last 2 hours claiming to be UBER
Indian man persistently ringing and saying he's from National Grid and wants to arrange to change our meter. quite rude and persistent and will keep calling back even when told we don't accept cold calls.
We have received a called at 14.06pm today from numbers 02820539011 claimed to be Uber eats and he has some promotion on Electricity and Gas discounts. His accent was foreign. When asked for his name, he seemed a little reluctant and said his name was Mark Jones. He determine to ask for my email address so that he can send the verification of the email which I gave him my work’s email but he was adamant to have my personal email address and of course i did not give. He then asked for my mobile numbers.. Very dodgy phone call.
ABsolute dick head , called trying to sell to one of my staff then proceeded to call over 30 times and swearing at the staff. will be looking to get number blocked and reported
Some annoying guy with no life who kept calling our business work saying that he works for British gas saying stuff about a smart meter and wanting details but obviously lying. He wouldn't leave us alone! You tell him you're busy but he calls the next day. Told him we were busy and hung up on him but he still calls, he wont stop until you answer. Today he called like 4 times today. Like pure harassment. And he was so rude as well, he swore at us.
Ringing our company saying we owe money to british gas, who we do not even deal with.
What and EVIL nasty Indian man. 2 nights in a row now, ringing over and over again. Very insulting. We have his number, we will be complaining and reporting him
Very rude Indian man, swearing at me, ringing constantly. Saying I’m ‘Fkin thick’ horrible experience
First phone call was from a man with an Indian accent claiming to work for O2. He said O2 was going to take some large percentage - either 30% or 70% - off the price of my contract. I said that I didn't have a contract and only paid by top-up. He said several times that he was checking my account details and would read them to me to check them, then hung up. The second call was just silence, so I hung up. Verdict: probably some kind of scam, but I wasn't asked for any money or personal information, so it might have been a mistake.
