Scam call about house repairs
Calling re alleged house damage claim - suspected fraud call
House repair scam, knew my name somehow
The caller knew my dad's name and claimed to be from a housing repair company offering help with a "damaged something" in the house. He was vague and could not specify what exactly needed repairing. When I tested him by asking for an Arabic interpreter (as my dad doesn't understand it well), he transferred me to another person who sounded identical (same voice and Indian accent). This person introduced himself as "Sayed" and spoke English first. When I insisted he speak Arabic, he said "I'm not very good at Arabic, but I can try," then spoke awkwardly in awful Arabic with a clear Indian accent while I could hear him typing (likely reading from a script or google translate). This appears to be a housing/disrepair scam. I ended the call after the language test.
