That they are from BT Head Office and want to talk about copper lines
Fantastic BT representative, really helpful. Guided me through the national switch off and was very professional.
Fishing for company info said from BT but clearly not they carefully word it so they can get information to sell onto third parties. I had to stop halfway through the call to check it out. I called back and it was the same guy that answered that would not happen with BT as they have many agents that work there.
said they were calling from bt - wanted to see if copper lines were still needed etc etc etc
Said they are from BT and want to disconnect ISDN & ADSL lines from Jan and wanted to know whether it is being used. Apparently they are the ones lease out the lines but they are disconnecting it.
Pretending to be BT but isn't.
Said he was BT Head Office (now know that's a lie!) and that they are decomissioning the landline in August so wanted to check if we still need it.... seems their cover story changes as the days go by
pretending to be BT, basically wanted to quote me for new lines/phone system - AVOID THEM
said they were BT and asking about the line under our commercial building and if it was being used as they need to do some work in around 6 weeks so they will need to disconnect for a short time and didn't want to cause too much disruption, i called the guy back but i explained that we have a dedicated broadband line and he said must be for the alarms but then he started asking about the phone system we use and i got suspicious seems he was just trying to phish for our system info ... he called from 02080814312
Said they were BT but didn't know anything about our IT Communications set up which caused suspicion. First the story was about work on our lines, which was very woolly and then they came to the 'we can get you a better price' chapter and we ended the call which lasted about 4 minutes.
