Said they were from EDF and wanted to replace my old meters. The scam alert sounded on my phone so I hung up immediately!
Asked for me by name then said I qualified for a free upgrade, didn't say who they were so said not interested. Definitely seems sus.
Same as above! claiming to be EDF and wanted my info. Block
Exactly the same experience as the others listed here. Claiming to be EDF. Now I want to know why EDF is giving out my details.
I had the same experience just now . insisting that I give her my address over the phone, she sent me an email like above. got annoyed when I wouldnt give my address and told me I couldn't have the smart meter. I said ok and put the phone down.
Caller stated they were EDF energy saying they were going to send me a smart meter. When I told them I already had one, they told me the one I had was old. She stated in order to proceed she wanted me to confirm my details. I refused of course. I told her I normally receive updates on upgrades in the post and requested she send me something through the post. She was insisting on sending something by email. She was so forceful I became suspicious and I hanged up. When I checked online lo and behold it was not EDF energy.
Automated voice - Highly likely a scam be cautious
