Pretending they are from 02 Even when I told them they were scammers they didn’t accept it.

Called me to tell me that O2, my telecom provider was upgrading my simcard to 5g, and to verify that I am the account holder, they would send me a 6 digit code. They provided only the last digits of my number. They knew nothing else about me. O2 DO NOT make outgoing calls asking for a code,.. they only ask for a code if they get an incoming call. I spoke to O2, and was advised that this isn't the way O2 do things, nor would they just send simcards off an outgoing call. This is most definitely a scam trying to get control of my account from me.
