They called saying from O2 and that my SIM was about to expire and they would be sending me a new one. I asked for the O2 number that I could call to verify this information and this was the number given to me.

Rung me from a mobile number claiming to be from my phone provider. Asked me to confirm my email which I didnt want to as they should know it. Then said they were sending out a new sim for my o2 account, I told them I dont have an o2 account, he asked me what network provider I was with, bearing in mind he was 'sending me a new sim' and thats when I got suspicious....!?!> Hung up and he tried ringing several times....He sounded indian but claimed his name was Steven Forster

Said it was o2. This was the number they gave me to phone back on after contacting me on an unknown mobile number.
