I’ve had the exact experience Telling me I was going to be sent a call blocker. They had my full name and address !
Claimed to be from UK Call Guard (company doesn't exist when I checked) offering a free Call Blocker unit to stop scam calls (the irony!). She already had my details - name, address, working status. But then mentioned a one off fee of £179 and alarm bells rang - I asked why do I need this when my landline provider already has this for free. Said I'd look into it and ended the call. Definite scam.
rings, but no message when goes to ansaphone
Phoned to say that they were from telecommunications company and wanted bank details to arrange. Sounded plausible but definitely a scam
Said he was from Uber food - 25% off first 8 deliveries. Put phone down when I asked if I could speak to his boss!
