This is Capital One, one of the better credit card companies. This particular number appears to belong in their fraud department. If uneasy about the caller, ask for your own details and see whether they have them, or ask to phone them back. They seem to be using mobile phones as BT/Open Reach and other landline operators are becoming so inefficient in todays world..

Its capital one
looked suspicious first, but was legit
Was skeptical at first, the woman on the phone was asking personal details but never asked for my card details so I proceeded, she then knew about transactions so at the time felr comfortable to proceed with the call. Afterwards i then searched the number and saw multiple claims that this was a scam so panicked and contacted CAPITAL ONE fraud team myself and they clarified everything was legit and confirmed they could see the call I recived on my notes. Yes the number comes from gamma telecom holdinga and from what i gather they work with multiple companies so yes there is a possibility that a scam could be connected with this number but from the CAPITAL ONE side of things this is legit! I will say always proceed with caution and if you are unsure please contact your provider to clarify before giving any details
Legitimate call from Capital One
Legit! I messaged their official chat line and they confirmed it. To be safe though, always call the number for fraud line on their website.
It's a genuine call from capital one, but like most financial institutions their behaviour is similar to scammers asking for personal details without a proper way to verify that they are actually your financial institution. They also send texts asking you to call random numbers, which are genuine in this case, but scammers send similar texts asking you to call scam numbers you can't easily tell the difference. So it's always best to just hang up, find the correct number yourself and call it (don't call the number they give you).
I recently applied for a Capital One credit card but my application was unsuccessful, which Capital One confirmed by email. About a week later, I received a call from the number 0115 773 6663 claiming to be from Capital One. The caller said she would ‘process my application’ and that I would receive a credit card within 3–4 days. She asked for my date of birth, postcode, email address, which bank I use, and the reason for my application. After checking, I now assume this was fraud.
Capital One Fraud Line
It's legitimate. Capital One Fraud Prevention Team. Initially called and when I didn't answer I quickly received a text asking me to call an 0800 number. I'd just used my card for a purchase in Austria and they were checking that it was a genuine transaction.
From capital one Fraud team. They sent a message saying there was a payment on my account, which there was which wasn’t me. I sent a text back saying fraud and they rang me with all my recent purchases dates and prices asking to confirm that these were legitimate. They confirmed my card has been cancelled and they will block payments to Amazon subscription (as this is what the person tried to do) but really helpful and legit
The number already came up on my phone as scam. They did say it was from capital one but they refused to tell me the reason and kept saying they need my details first. Usually a bank tells you the reason for the call so it seemed like a spam caller
Capital One - genuine call from their fraud team. Missed the call but called back on the number on the back of the card and they confirmed this was genuine.
I too had dealings with capital one on this number, and it was legit. They helped me block an unknown payment.
Replied “fraud” to a capital one text, when called he was able to confirm my transactions and help with the fraud
