Said phone lines would be cut off then failed to follow up on proposed face to face meeting

I received a call from someone claiming to be called Kalvin, who said he was working on behalf of BT Openreach. He was extremely pushy from the outset, initially pressuring my administration team to switch our broadband provider before being transferred to me. He claimed that our current connection was still using the old copper network, that it would be decommissioned on 8 August, and that we would lose our internet unless we immediately took out a new contract through him. When I explained that we have an external IT company that manages our broadband and telecommunications, he became even more forceful, saying he "didn't have time" to speak to them and that I needed to sort it out immediately. The whole conversation felt very high-pressure, unprofessional and suspicious. Genuine infrastructure providers do not typically pressure businesses into signing new contracts over the phone or discourage you from speaking to your existing IT provider. I'd advise others to be cautious if they receive a similar call from someone claiming to be Kalvin.
