Caller said from maintenance team and wanted me to confirm my Nane… I did not confirm and kept asking what maintenance team they were from. Eventually they terminated the call
Caller said she was calling from the "Maintenance Team". She addressed me by a bogus name I had given to a cold-caller some time ago. Apparently my washing machine insurance was due for renewal and as I hadn't made any claims in the last year I was due for a discount. I have no washing machine insurance and my number is registered with the TPS. She was not able to give me the business address as "they have branches all over the country", She sounded as though this was her first day on the job and was beginning to realise she was being asked to spin a yarn by her employers. I took it as a training opportunity and outlined the TPS and GDPR to her, She then terminated the call.
