0131 225 2525 Negative Who called me from this phone number?

Scammers pretending to be from Edinburgh Sherriff Court. Do not answer.

Some sort of scam, but when you google the number it comes up as the Sheriff Court which makes it you think twice even if you're not generally vulnerable to these sorts of things. Needs investigated or something.

Terrible message for any vulnerable person. Sounds official and threatening. As others have said. Threatens to prosecute and remove your NI number. No one can go that. It’s yours for life. Really needs urgent attention.

Indian voice,unclear, claimed to be from tax office and would be arrested if not answering calls,, when repeated asked who they were put phone down

Taped message mentioning possible suspension of National Insurance number. Why don’t Police investigate and telecoms shut these crooks down? Harassing and defrauding people should be challenged.

Pretending to be Edinburgh Sherriff’s office. Fraudulent but frightening

saying will go to court for tax invasion it is very threatening especially as some people are vulnerable it is pre-recorded

When I answered there was silence so I just hung up. I’m in London so the Edinburgh number made no sense.

Had 2 calls from this number today. After listening up to press 1 to speak to someone I hung up. Ignored 2nd call. Shame some people maybe scammed out of 1000’s unfortunately.

Been contacted by this number twice and I don’t know why. I ignored it as I believe it’s spam.

A scam! ere's a message stated on the official Edinburgh Sheriff Court website: "We have been informed that some members of the public have received phone calls purporting to be from Edinburgh Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Court about outstanding payments. These calls DO NOT come from Edinburgh Sheriff Court. This is a scam and should be ignored. SCTS does not proactively call people threatening action over National Insurance, unpaid fines or debts."
