01269 839047 Negative Who called me from this phone number?

Simply ignore any numbers you don’t recognise

Had a missed call from this number earlier and was able to call back. It was a man with an Indian accent calling about a recent accent ..that i never had!

01269 839047 called claiming to be Peter from BT. Had a lovely chat with Peter about all my problems with BT as a company, opened up my computer doing as he requested and gave him my passwords and bank details. He seemed very happy! I don't have a computer, I'm not with BT and l made up the passwords and bank details off the top of my head! 🤣

They are still at it. I was called just now using the same rubbish about computer not working. They hung up when they see I wasn’t up to their tricks.

If you never gave him any personal info I.e bank details, address DOB etc then I’d say your pretty safe this person was just phishing & CAB never ring u unless u have been in contact with them.

Answered one of these calls once when my son was up from London. He took over and kept him on for over half an hour. He said that, if he has time, that's what he always does on the basis that whilst he amuses himself he is preventing someone else becoming a possible victim.

Played like a trouper; well done.

Me: Hi it's Daniel (they probably knew that already, I answer all calls that way) Them: Hi this is from *garbled* support, are you looking for contractor roles at the moment? Me: No I'm not looking currently Them: Are you Permanent? Me: I'm not looking currently, sorry Them: Ok bye lmao

I've had same, I asked what their interpretation of debt is, silence !

I must admit, I found it amusing when they called me - I played along for a moment or two asking what the problem may be and whom was calling - Peter said he was from BT, I thanked him for is urgent call and asked if he minded me calling this number from my other phone to verify his identity - he said not a problem - he quickly put the phone down when I just said "thank you - my number may show up strange as I'll be calling from the police station cybersecurity squad" :-) had to giggle..

Today I received a call from this number. its literally a scam, block them

Had a call from this number; as with a number of other comments, started off as a 'genuine' call from 'BT' regarding my internet connection, and my router being somehow compromised, and that he has been told to disconnect remotely my router, as it has been hacked, (Odd that as I am actually in a Hotel) I asked him how he was able to get my telephone number?? as I am ex-directory and on the TPS so my number is off-limits, he got a little confused, didn't seem to know anything about the telephone preferences legislation, I asked him if he was from BT why he didn't know, he got flustered and hung up, (number added to an ever-growing list of blocked barred numbers

Just call and no talking at all
