Didn't answer as number not known assume another scam caller blocked
01224928574 - definitely thieves. Not Currys, or anyone respectable, despite what they say.
This caller phoned by 12 year old daughter and repeated her full name, the Scottish voice on the other end then said he was stalking her!
Rang 2hrs ago and when i answered they put it down.
didn't pick it up but it's from Aberdeen and I have no one/no company connections there so I assume it's spam
I bought a £20 coffee maker from Currys and they have plagued me ever since with emails and phonecalls about 'insurance for my gadget'. Seriously?
Called a few mins ago, didnt pick up, definitely a scam
Missed the call and can tell by the comments this is basically scam 100%
Called claiming to be from EE/three couldn't really make out what he said. Asking if I was happy with my phone and if I was wanting to upgrade to the latest phone. Definitely a scam
Claiming to be from Carphone warehouse, trying to offer me a discount on the "latest" iPhone 11 - attempted to actually go through the call coz I was bored but they hung up :) number blocked!
Just read through other messages..On this occasion caller said he was from Carphone Warehouse. He asked me which phone I had. I didn't tell him, but he then went into his script about offering great deals blah blah blah. Clearly I cut him short politely and told him that I wasn't interested in his blah and wished him a good rest of the day. Could be a scam/fraud of course so always have that in mind but didn't let him get that far.
Man claiming to be calling from 'Currys/Carphone Warehouse' yet could not confirm my own name, even though he called me. He said I was due an upgrade and wanted me to confirm my details and what phone I had. Was not willing to give personal information out. Surely if they know I am due an upgrade (which I am not) they would have some details on me, e.g. my name. I am not due an upgrade and when I stated that, they seemed grumpy and hung up. The call stated "Potential Fraud" when they called. Very dodgy! Am just assuming it was a scam and they were hoping for me to 'upgrade' and hand over my personal details and bank info. Shame, as some people will fall for it.
Rung by an Aberdeen code number 01224 928574 who said he was Carfone Warehouse and when I said he wasn't, he told me I had requested a new mobile phone (which I had not and have never had any dealings with CW) and was about to set up my new service. I asked when I had expressed any interest and he seemed confused by the question, then repeated that I had asked for a new phone.... and hung off!
Called and was just laughing down the phone then hung up
Spoke to the guy a god 5 mins, Indian call centre offering iPhone 14 for £35 a month. Claiming to be from CurrysPCWorld, saying they will buy me out of contract. This is a phishing scam, they are harvesting your phone number, email and address to resell to other call centres. At the end of the call, they will make an attempt to get you to pay something. Please do not be stupid! This is not a real deal they are offering.
Person said he was from Currys PC World. Asked me about my phone and tried to upgrade me for £45 for an out of date phone so I played along. When he asked about colour I asked if he has any invisible ones available, he then wanted my email so I told him it was [email protected] He asked me to spell it out so I did which is when the penny dropped and he realised I was leading him on, he then told me to not hang up so he could call the police on me, so I waited and he hung up. I was rather dissapointed but my work mates were laughing their heads off.
Was offering a deal on something what i think was a phone contract.
Lady saying she from Currys phone upgrades. Number said it was from somewhere in Scotland.
They phoned me, didn’t hear my phone. I called them back, no answer. Must be a scam
This seems very much like a scam center after reading the above comments. When I answered, the line fell silent so I hung up straight away. Very suspicious!
Said they were from “Currys mobile”..… sounded like big call centre chatter in background….
Called, I didn’t answer but didn’t leave a message
Call from Currys a week after buying a new phone via Carphone Warehouse. The number has never been given to anyone. Offering all sorts of insurance services and upgrades - usual sales rubbish and quite annoying. Unsolicited calls are now ALL blocked. Only numbers in my phone book can reach me now because of this.
Stated he was from Curry's in Aberdeen. Persistent about upgrading my phone despite me saying I wasn't interested.
Supposed call from Curry’s asking about phone upgrade foreign accent, seemed polite there was some God Bless You from this chap who called himself Rory call was supposedly from Aberdeen. When asked where he got my number stated was on system but didn’t know my name. Probable scam/ phishing call told him was not interested in upgrade on phone.
Phones to say he's from EMSA and he's got the money you lost with Ivory investments and he needs to send it to you but you'll need to open up a crypto wallet. He then wants you to install AnyDesk so he can access your PC and help you with the process. Instead he's obtaining your personal data and bank account details so he can go back into your account and take your money. Hang up immediately and if you can block his number. I got caught once before with something similar so I knew what he was up to.
Asking about Ivory options and some money we deposited, said they could.get us the money back but then asked us to download app so they over ride my laptop at this point I said I needed to look into it further and I hung up. They rang again about 3 minutes later but I did not answer
Was eating crisping and making noises when left a voice mail
