Further update, after Googling www.checkvehiclereg.center: - checkvehiclereg.center appears to be a scam or phishing website, as it is not an official government agency and uses deceptive tactics like those seen in DVLA scams. These scams often try to get you to click on malicious links by sending fake emails or texts about vehicle tax refunds or other vehicle-related issues. The legitimate UK government source, GOV.UK, advises not to click links in such messages. - Not a government site: checkvehiclereg.center is not an official government service. The official UK government vehicle registration and tax services are managed by the DVLA and are accessible through the GOV.UK website. - Common scam tactics: The site uses common phishing techniques, such as sending fake emails or texts that may claim there is an issue with your vehicle tax or require you to "confirm your personal details". - Official warnings: The DVLA has issued warnings about these types of scams and advises against clicking links in unexpected messages. What to do if you encounter a scam: - Do not click on any links or download any attachments. - Delete the suspicious email or text message. - If you believe you have been a victim, report the scam to Action Fraud.
Claim to be a diesel emmissions claim company. They want you to click in a link they text you to give their solicitor panel approval to send you documents. SMS reads: "Please submit your signature here. https://checkvehiclereg.center/signature?id=88dda00c-6427-4cdb-b369-12dc16a41936" As this goes against all cyber security advice, I suspect that they are not genuine. I asked for an email or website to check them out but they deflected.
