Stated they were calling from EE and were deactivating my SIM card within two days. Asked for email address and info to send the new SIM card to verify. Assumed it was a scam, as there has been no contact from EE via email/text or verified phone number.

Said they were from O2 and that the SIM card and my number were gonna be deactivated in the next 2 days — hung up straight after that
They said I needed a new SIM card
Didn't answer, but after reading other people's accounts here I believe it to be a scan from EE as the other user said to do with deactivating for trying to extort money for a new SIM.
