i was called by this number and having checked with HSBC it is defininately NOT an HSBC number. This is a SCAM. They call from 03456008891 and quote a reference
I got the same message. They got mine and my company's name wrong. I haven't called back yet, but I realised this isn't something you can check online as I have no way of trusting the people here who say it's a genuine number
That was the message I received from who claimed to be HSBC fraud
Please urgently call Fraud Prevention on 03456008891 from UK or Intl +441470697005 24x7 quoting reference bcp. This is not a marketing text. Do not reply by SMS
This was legitimately HSBC. I received the call and said i would call them back. Rather than call the number they gave me, I found the HSBC call center number from the website and called them. They transferred me through to their Fraud Team.
Got same message today, didn't trust it so called number on back of card and it was legitimate.
Scam..definitely NOT HSBC
Can confirm - genuine HSBC fraud department
Definitely HSBC Fraud team to check transactions on your credit card and yes it is usually an Asian call centre.
Turned out to be HSBC. Used this site as part of my googling beforehand and was reasonably confident they were OK, and after the call I rang HSBC back myself and they confirmed my card had been cancelled. It is easy to spoof these comments I guess. What I should have done is found the correct number for the HSBC company fraud department, as that would have saved me a lot of time. Turned out to be OK but if I were going through the process again I would probably try harder to contact HSBC myself rather than trust the caller.
Just received a call from this number, didn't feel right so I ended the call. I do not have an account with hsbc but am an employee.
Definitely real number for HSBC fraud. I identified myself through my bank account number and they knew my credit card number. They knew my last genuine transactions plus a load of fraudulent ones.
Got the voicemail, sounded dodgy so I called the number on my card and they confirmed there was a fraud flag on the card. I can therefore only assume the number is real.
Claimed to be hsbc fraud dept. Very suspicious asked for my bank details to confirm my id. They would know this if they were who they said they were, wouldnt they? Have blockwd their number!
Had a call from this number claiming they where HSBC Fraud team, Asked them to ring back,How would we know if this is genuine?
