Sent me a WhatsApp claiming to be Amazon UK - obviously a scam, but message looked very convincing, as did logo and image etc. Could see a lot of people clicking on link and being caught out in the Black Friday sales.

Just got sent a message on WhatsApp claiming to be from Amazon with a video which I haven't downloaded in case its dodgy. Seems is that the number is registered to Lumen technologies instead of Amazon so going to avoid until I know more. Although the account does have a blue tick next to the name on WhatsApp so it's all very confusing!

+44 20 3942 0155 - this states Amazon "are now on WhatsApp" and "Get an early start on Black Friday Week" plus offers of a £10 discount for your first in-app purchase. All looks ok but I think this is probably a scam. A few days ago I received a message, also via WhatsApp, from +44 20 7084 8165. This claimed to be from "Amazon Verification" and stated it was "Amazon's WA number to deliver security codes or one time passwords." I reported that one to Amazon. I haven't heard from anywhere else - ie Amazon itself - that they are now on WhatsApp and I think until this is officially confirmed that people should be very wary about these Amazon WhatsApp messages - especially as others have reported that the second number above is a scam.
