I've had 3 calls from this number which I don't recognise and will not answer. I would like them to stop.
I've just been called by this number - she said she was calling from Alzheimer Scotland, and I do fundraiser for them at times. However I was driving at the time and she said that despite being on Bluetooth speakerphone, their policy was to not speak to anyone driving. She's offered to call me back tomorrow but, after coming on here, I'm not going to answer as I don't like the fact that the number seems to be associated with so many different charities!
I donated by text to a TV appeal and gave £5.00 started to then get these calls. I will know better next time. I'm all for pro active fund raising, but what ever happened to sending me a letter?
Got a call from this number almost every day for last week or two. Don't think I've made any donations recently. But my youth group were ringing charities to get help with their community project couple weeks back. And I also pay monthly into Amnesty International. When I called this number back, I heard an annoying automated male message and hung up straight away. Irritating harassment.
Thanks for the comments. They called me but I ignored them. Have saved to contacts under Ignore 56. Yes, I now have 56 numbers that I know not to answer!
I donate to charity quite often via SMS text message.. you know the sort of thing on the telly... earthquake appeal, childrens charity, clean water, etc., etc. It is quite normal now for the charities to employ a contact service/agency and they call you shortly afterwards to say thank you and then ask if you wish to make additional or regular monthly donations. At first I used to get quite annoyed and I thought it was so rude to do this, but at the end of the day these charities exist simply to get money out of our pockets to spend on helping those in tragic circumstances. I'm not criticizing anyone for that - it's the reality, and if you get one of these calls then it is a badge of honour - you have been kind and generous, don't be offended, everyone is just doing what they need to do to help other who need help. The guy on the phone works in a call centre somewhere, reading from a script, getting paid on numbers of calls made and maybe number of extra donations collected. The contact agencies are simply employed to turn your donation in to bigger donations. I know it's annoying, but if you are polite and firm they end the call on a happy note. If you can't or just don't want to give more, then no problem just say you do not want this and please to end call now. Well done for getting the call; yes it is a bit annoying and yes it feels a bit cheeky, but everyone is chasing that extra few quid to buy another injection or mosquito net or whatever. The last call I got on this number I missed, but it was probably on behalf of Unicef as I made two text donations this week for their recently advertised vaccine programme, so I saved two lives and this annoying little call is no problem in the big scheme of things, certainly not compared to some poor 3 year old kid playing in sewage who just had her family wiped out in an earthquake or war or famine............. Take it on the chin, say no if you want to, be calm, and well done again for your super-kind donations!!
donated to Nepal charity, now being rung from this number several times a day. Should be ashamed of their selves. Last time i donate on tv appeal. Number blocked.
calls from this no several times a day
I donated to a charity appeal advertised on TV for action aid in support of the Nepal crisis I did not pick up the call, but I googled it & see others have had nuisance calls after making charity donations too I will be blocking the number
Had two missed call from this number after donating via text to the earthquake appeal in Napal. I assume from the other comments I am on the list of people who are being followed up on hoping they can press me into giving more money and more often. :(
Called twice now in 3 days! I give to charity when I can but will not be doing so anymore as the charities obviously sell details to this company who call to harass you into making a monthly donation and make a commission off of every poor sucker they guilt trip into donating!! Really don't expect this kind of hassle simply for donating to a charity, ridiculous!!
Called twice today, first time said it was a survey, second time said they were calling on behalf of Greenpeace. Told them I don't accept this sort of 'phone call. Let's see if they ring again!
hung up when my answer phone kick in
they ring me every day, about the same time. i never answer and never will.
