Received a call for HMRC survey claiming they have already sent a letter which I have never received, requested to send another letter but never received. Called again today, got none of my detail. Not taking no and tried to be very controlling. Ended the call.
Claimed to be conducting research on behalf of HMRC. Were very persistent, despite my explaining that I had a lot of deadlines to complete this month. When I finally agreed that they could call back next month, caller asked for my full name (as only had my initials). I pointed out that HMRC have all of my details in full and then hung up. Highly suspicious!
The call is from IFF Research - I received a letter from HMRC a few weeks ago saying that I may receive the call. No details whatsoever about clients or my own business was requested - it was purely a genuine survey about interaction with HMRC over the last twelve months. https://www.iffresearch.com/
Just felt like a scam so I said I couldn’t talk and hung up. Mentioned no references or names. Definitely avoid!
Claiming to be from HMRC and asked for Initial Surname. Said it was in relation to interactions with HMRC and a follow up survey to see how customer satisfaction was rated. I did not agree to take part and when they could not reschedule a call outside business hours, the caller reluctantly said they'd try another time - by which point I've blocked the number.
Claiming from HMRC wanted to speak to office manager. Could provide no details or references but wanted contact names and numbers.
020 3781 0728 - anting to speak to our finance director/manager. Apparently calling on behalf of HMRC (following up a letter and email sent earlier in Sept - conveniently they have no details as to who or where these were sent to!), as we have been selected to give our views and opinions on HMRC.
Claiming to be from HMRC to do a survey and won't take no for an answer
