Its an automated ai system. It is made to sound exactly like a 'real' conversation. It is programmed to recognise if you say anything. If you dont, it finishes the call. It says its about loft insulation which has been don over the last 10 to 20 years causing condensation in local postcode area. If you do respond it notes your phone number for further calls.
”can you hear me OK? I said "What" he said he was David about doors and window replacement. I just kept saying "what" and he changed his name to John and restarted the conversation every time I didn't give him an expected answer. I got fed up with playing with him and hung up. Third call this week, same voice (A.I. ?) different numbers. All blocked.
Had a lot of these calls, up until now, just straight to the 'Window salesman'. This time the person saying 'Can you hear me ?' for the first time. If you don't answer the questions it stops talking so its an AI bot. Could be trying to collect sentences or strings of words.
Started with”can you hear me OK? Said was with an energy company. Proceeded to talk over me - computer generated maybe. Obviously a scam
As the previous reporter said English male said ‘can you hear me ok?’ then the line went silent and I hung up. No idea what it was about. Unsolicited calls getting through even though we are registered with TPS.
When I answered an Anglo-Saxon male voice said "Can you hear me ok?" then there was silence so I hung up. Presumably unsolicited and possibly a scam.
Supposedly some window/door company in London I think they said. I don't recall the company name. The "person" at the other end completely ignored what I said: it wouldn't surprise me to find it was an AI call.
