A call was made from this number to my landline at 3:01am . I didn’t get to the phone in time to answer as it took some time for me to wake properly but quite clearly I didn’t appreciate being phoned at that hour.
Called my number this evening when I was not on line. Seemed to come from Government Gateway, but dubious as I had not contacted them.
Automated call. Said it was from Government Gateway and left a code 6 digit code, and that is was valid for 15 min. I did not request it!

Automated call is part of HMRC two step authentication security. When you login to Government Gateway they send a six digit code to your phone to complete the login.

The Number 01749608007 is genuine & from the government gateway when you're doing your tax return.
Click a link on some .gov.uk websites and you get a creepy call from a robot with a cryptic 6 digit number that's repeated twice before it hangs up. I don't know if the robot self-destructs 5 seconds after the call but its the kind of number that bond might call to get a cap put in the head of Dr Evil or something ... and its a really creepy message. Its not spam though.
Did not answer the call.. Noticed today it was on our land line on Monday 30th August at 22.55 pm
