Unknown number, I ignored call, they rang back a couple of mins later. Answered but did not speak, they rang off

Just seen that it is Car phone warehouse 😔 Husband got stung with this several years ago. Knew everything about his O2 tariif and that he was due an upgrade. Sent him a phone but when he tried to return it the phone number was a firm called sunspot based in South Africa so the call would have been excessive. O2 said they have nothing to do with this and had several complaints. Stay clear and block the number.

Skies telecom I’ve blocked the number

Called saying they were from 02 and offered 30% off my contract. Got very shifty when I said I would access the deal from the app, and said no the deal is only available on the phone, so I said I would call them back myself and I hung up on them.

Claimed to be from 02 and my number is on their system. I am not with 02, haven't been for 3 years. Hung up

Rang me and claimed to be from 'Phone House Company', hung up and blocked number.

Telephone call from carphone warehouse, offering me £10 a month unlimited calls tech data and overseas calls, pointed out that I’m still in a current contract. Which they then offered to pay for me so then I could join this new contract with the same company pointed out it wouldn’t be in carphone best interest to pay off a current contract and of me a new contract that is less than what I’m currently paying so would need this in writing first. Was informed that my bank details would be required. Questioned this as you don’t make payment via bank details to buy card details. Hung up on me

Caller stated they were from Carphone Warehouse, something about 50% off any phone. Unsolicited call, said I wasn’t interested, called rambled more so I hung up.

Claimed to be from O2, offering me 40% off of my remaining contract. Because of losing ‘so many customers to Covid they don’t want to lose anymore, so offering 40% off’

Called me just now..I didn't answer

SCAM! They disconnected as soon as I answered. I called back. A recording says "Thank you for calling Skies Telecom." (Please note, not "Sky"!) Selecting the option to speak to someone never gets through. 🍌😤

Called me today, I didn't answer.

Says they are from curry’s pc world and offering a phone for stupid money.

This caller was Harry. I saw a programme on this precise call by a Radio 4 programme, You and yours 26 October 21. And they were talking about this precise scam. It starts with Harry declaring he is from Carphone Warehouse. Apparently the scam is they send you a phone for a cheap price, something is wrong with it or it is the wrong model so you send it back. But they have your bank details, so they can get a contract using your bank details and your address. So you continue to pay for a new contract with Vodaphone in this case (Vodaphone not to blame in any way). And they have the phone contract which you pay for. Anyway I had this call today (2 November) from Harry saying he was from Carphone Warehouse. The thing is Carphone Warehouse now is Curry's and sure I heard in an earlier episode of you and yours that it doesn't exist and Curry's don't make calls using their name. So anyone says Carphone Warehouse , don't agree to anything. Today I mentioned this to Harry and he put the phone down, on to the next victim.
