01539 889977 Neutral Who called me from this phone number?

Answered call as it was from local area - Kendal. Woman with southern (London) accent said that she was from the CAB and that she had been advised that I had had an accident recently. When I insisted that I hadn't she hung up. Scam.

Another illicit caller with spurious claims to be providing money "we did not know was ours" strange then they called on my mobile for my wife DODGY!!!!

She asked me if someone from this number had had an accident, when I said no, she asked me how mush was chicken and chips, seriously.

Keeps ringing no answer

Just got a call from this number, don't answer as I never do with numbers I don't recognise. Area code is unknown to me, fed up with calls and texts from cold calling companies!

Just got a missed call from this number. When I called back, a voice said the number was no longer in service.

Got a all from this number, knew it was a cold caller and decided to play along with him (since they were paying the bill!!!) , he had a foreign accent - which I could barely understand, so I said I may have gotten amnesia from my "so called" accident and was struggling to remember ever having an accident and asked him that if he knew I had an accident then he would be able to give me some details of what had actually happened so that I could start piecing my life back together (I haven't had an accident). The line went very quiet then the next thing he said was well if you can tell me exactly what happened then we could make a claim!!!! Told him I couldn't remember then he hung up.

Got a call from this number asking about an accident I had. When asked I wasn't aware of any accident and who was it calling. The young girl stuttered and unconvincingly stated she was from an accident compensation company. I called the number back but got an automated message saying the number was no longer available. Very strange??!!

Had a missed call from this number before if it is CAB they have been branching out to finance and accidents. It's a con number

Got a call from this number at gone 18:00 and the location came up along with the number. When I answered nobody spoke, the call hung up instead. Called back the number and was told that the service is no longer available.

Said I had an accident in the last 2.5 years (I haven't) Hung up when I said they were talking rubbish

They are something calling itself the Accident Advice Bureau. I suspect they are a bunch of ambulance chasing lawyers. The quality of their outbound calling agents is very poor. They are persistent, though, I'll give them that, four calls in five days on my mobile, despite me saying (with increasing ferocity each time) that I am not interested. As they have not had my permission to call me, and they do not have a prior relationship with me, they are clearly in breach of the Information Commission Data Protection Rules.

Just called me stating they are AH Legal and wanted to talk about my "recent car accident". Lady with foreign accent. I hung up without comment.

Male asking for me by my first name. I asked if I could help (I do not identify myself until they tell me who is calling and why), and he hung up. What game do these people think they are playing? Useless individual!

They hung up on me when I asked who they were. Please note, the CAB would NEVER call people like this so don't for a moment think it is them.

Called from this number .cold calling

Didn't answer as unknown number. Called twice today and one yesterday. Didn't leave any messages.

This number kept calling my mobile, but I kept missing it. Today I actually picked up the call and a man with a thick accent that was difficult to interpret, said he was from the Citizen's Advice Bureau, which I thought highly unlikely. He then went on to ask me if I had had any accidents recently - any trips, falls, car accidents etc etc. Scam merchant - I told him to remove my name from his call sheet and never call again.

A bloke from this number rang who it couldn't clearly understand as his English was poor. Said he was from the CAB and they was calling regarding an accident I was involved in. I said I hadn't been involved in an accident but was shocked as 01539 is a local area code for me. I am under my local CAB and will call in tomorrow morning to let them know!

Did not answer call not expect anything and I know area code spam call probably but did visit the CAB today.

Didn't answer as I didn't recognise the number and dont know anyone in the area. Couldnt have been a genuine call as no message left

Called from CAB. Asked me if I knew about the accident I'd had. Surely I'd know?! I told them how I worked for CAB and got hung up on.. Shame.

Called from citizens advice bureau saying I'd had an accident. Waste of time! Couldn't understand very well.
