Redditch 01527 361369 @ 0930, 1100 1230 on 16/08/26 Says from Co-operative Bank and asks for confirmation that they are speaking to me (they name me) and ask for confirmation of the birth year and birth day. I confirmed year but then was suspicious. I messaged my bank via the web instead to confirm the activity on my account. Would be better that the bank sends a secure message and a text to say they have done so and go check the website. Unclear if scam or not but best to be cautious: I will err on the side of scam/fraud at this point.

Thay say they are from the Coop bank fraud squad and inform me of two attempts to take substantial funds using my credir card - sums much larger than my credit card limit.

I didn’t answer but it was an automated message claiming to be my bank and asking me to call back on the number. I called my bank via 159 and they advised it was a legitimate call as they were holding what they thought was a fraudulent payment which I then authorised.

Called the number an it uses the same automatic voice as the co-op bank who they claim to be. Then asks for a phone number only to confirm details. The bank normally asks for other info. I’m 99% sure it’s a scam. What’s worrying is that they had all my information such as email I use with the bank etc. meaning the bank sells data to third parties or has a data leak.

Suspect fraudulent activity on my account. I rang my bank and they confirmed it was a scam
