Claimed to be Scottish power and that I should press 1 to talk to an agent! Put the phone down straight away!

Calling constantly, if it’s a call claiming to be from an actual company you’re with search their business number online and tell them ur being harassed by a number claiming to be them. I’ve seen people reporting this number to SP as far back as 2023 so the company clearly did not follow up with fraud dept. originally they claimed to be Carphone warehouse and then Scottish power. if it’s a company call them on their official number and never give any details if they call you. Scam

Blocked the Fraudsters, claimed 2 b sp.

phoned scottish power and asked for details of this number, and if they were working for them. They have no knowledge of the caller and will hand the matter to their fraud dept. My payments to SP are done by DD each month so are under control. Rule of thumb keep all emails from Scot Power and on their site there is the info of all your bill for the last 2 years. add up the total for the last year and set up a Direct Debit. Then you are slowly but surely reducing any debt. Scot Power will be happier with this approach rather than panicing, while on a fixed income, but do tell them what you're doing to reduce the debt. It will also give you time to get help from charities or citizens advice etc.

ITs basically a robotcaller. Yes, it is Scottish Power but its agents on the phone that have no idea what is happening w your case apart from GIVE ME MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY. You could be disputing a charge, or there could be an issue you already solved w the normal customer service but they will keep on calling until you pay. Even if you explained to not having any money for a few days and you will definitely pay, they will call you every day to ask for the money and forget what you told them or what you told customer service. So not a real call, its a mindless agent after money that is completely unaware of your circumstances until they get you on the phone to explain yourself... every day.. several times. Its basically mental torture and if they care at all about mental health they wouldnt do it.... but its clear they dont care. I've blocked it, will wait for my complaints letter to be dealt with 1st before I speak to them.

So why are they calling from Redditch number in the UK?

Automated message advising me Scottish Power were trying to contact me. Press 1 to speak to an advisor. As this was the second call I pressed 1. Male with foreign accent claiming to be from Scottish Power, he stated all calls were recorded for monitoring/training. Asked to speak to my husband by name. Then asked me to confirm my full name. I explained I did not give out details over the telephone. He thanked me then hung up.

it is a legit call, i workfor SP and i can confirm we have a team located in SA from the collections team.

Scottish Power, or so they claimed

It is scottish power, they are ringing to tell you about your account, if it has been set up or not. My electric supplier is scottish power and I hadn't set an account up yet as I'd only just moved into the property and they were phoning to clarify that i was the new tenant. They also gave me information that i had given them in a previous call without me telling them anything

Missed call… weird thing is I have been in contact recently with Scottish Power. Have blocked number.

Claiming to be Scottish power - when I asked if she could email proof and a bill of ‘missed payment’ so that I had a record of it from them she told me that it wasn’t allowed and that I needed to pay, proceeded to wish me well and to have a nice day and hung up. DONT TRUST. If they were the real company they would be willing to hand over details to confirm it’s them.

Fake call, spammers people asking to speak to accounts payable from Scottish power. Do not receive calls from them. They pay for U.K. number but are scammers they get your details off web

Had 4 calls from this number saying they were Scottish Power Collections. I refused to provide any information to them as the account is currently in dispute so shouldn’t be receiving calls. They told me check number. If they call tomorrow will have whistle ready to use down phone. Calling landline number so not so easy to block.

Strong South African accent. Claimed to be from Scottish Power. Asked me to verify who I was. Refused as its illogical they phoned me. Smelled a rat.

Had a missed call from this number. As I was on the phone to Scottish Power at the time of the missed call it seems unlikely that is was actually from them. I didn't ring them back, waiting to see if they ring again.
