They said they were from 'Insurance department' then said they worked with bona fide insurers and rattled off a few names (I have fielded other calls from so and such a department-it's an immediate give away that there is something dodgy about the call). I explained that they were not speaking to the person they requested and I gave my name. They then proceeded to ask the questions as if I was the policy holder. I stopped his enquiries and explained it was my mam's policies but he just continued asking me, without asking for proof of a legal standing to do so, in this case a Power of Attorney. He then explained they were just here to check that the policy(ies) were right for us. At this point i'd had enough vagueness and procedural errors and politely told him 'My mum has an illness that manifests as dementia, I handle all her business under a power of attroney and am satisfied that any policies she has are adequate for her needs at this point. Please have some respect and mark us down for no further contact'....... I live in hope, but experience tells me that these B'stads target older residents and this won't be the last-this simply due to the number of nuisance calls she gets.

Trying to get me to change my insurance, didn't even get my name right. He had an Indian accent and sounded like he was calling from a call centre as there was a lot of background noise.
