This number showed up on my phone as "Nuisance" so I remained silent when I picked it up/answered it, waiting for the other end to initiate the conversation, but after a few seconds of complete silence from the other end, the call disconnected, therefore it most likely would have been an automated recording, and most likely with the fraudulent purposes to obtain personal information.

I am registered with the TPS, so this was an unwanted nuisance call. This was the second of such calls today. It is obvious to me that they are seeking personal information. I answered the call, but it was a recorded message saying something like "Thank you for your call! We'll ring you again, but if you don't wish to receive our calls, leave your name & number!!
