Said from B T wanting to arrange an update to my contract .I said it was not due to run out until January; he said it was October. I then said I would check this as I was thinking of leaving. He just said alright and ended the call.
Same thing happened to me - BT wanting to renew a contract - sounded suspicious so I hung up. Dodgy looking email came afterwards. No sign of any contract renewal required on my online account.
They called me when I spoke the line went dead ........possible scam...
Call at 16.12 on 23.9.25. Male voice said he was calling about my broadband contract due for renewal. I renewed it 2 months ago which I told him and then hung up.
Their number came up when they tried phoning. I did not recognise it so did not answer.
Not a number I recognised. Didnt answer but has called several times with no message.
This number came up on my mobile, possible scam so I declined the call. If I don't know/recognise the number... I don't answer it.
Couldn't understand a word he said. I told him so. He must have been offended because he put the phone down.....
Called with my name details and supposedly BT deal. Wanted to help me get a better deal with my contract that is due to change shortly. I rejected their offer, the person hung up. Checked with BT - they are investigating the number also. My deal is NOT finishing soon, so I knew they were wrong!
Informed that my bank had not paid my latest BT/EE bill. If I did not let them have my Bank Details, my account will be cancelled and I will be "blacklisted" and will never be accepted by any Telecommunications firm ever again! BLOCKED THE NUMBER
Has rang my home and mobile number now . It hangs up when you say hello.. I'm lost how they have my home number as I'm ex directory and have never given my number out
Calling me nearly every day for the last two weeks, they hang up immediately I answer.
Potential scam call. Called me yesterday about my BT contract and then hung up. Called again today but I was out and no message was left.
Phoned twice and each time no response when answered. Now blocked.
Phoned twice, first time claimed to be BT about my contract coming to an end which it wasn't tried asking me for my mobile number to send me a verification code. I refused and told them that as BT had my details they could email me, no email sent. two days later had a call but hung up when I answered phone
Rang when answering no-one spoke. Thank you for the heads up.
asked to speak to my wife(she had died 4 years ago) i said was her husband they rang off, my number was used again about two weeks later, put the phoe down when i spoke, made a note of the number will never answer again
Don’t get sucked into a conversation. They claim your contract with BT is up for renewal. (Trick). Just say you will now call BT on their Free Phone number and hang up. Trick- scam call.
*I strongly suspect this to be a scammer* Got a call from this number (Stevenage area code) earlier, I did not immediately speak when answering and could hear what sounded like a call centre (which could have been anywhere, and I gather scammers can operate from them) in the background, but (for reasons unknown) as soon as I spoke the caller (whoever and wherever they were) hung up without a word... I dialled the number back but only got a disconnected tone, so very clearly some sort of scammer, to be calling from a spoof number disguising their real number and location.
Claimed to be from bt Saying my contract is due for renewal Didn’t think bt would be using this number so dismissed it as a scammer
This number has rung a few times don’t recognise the num let it go to answer phone sounds like a scam ? unless they prove different ,
Female caller claiming to be from BT saying my contract about to end - it isn't. I ended the call.
Male answered phone said it was to renew Bt contract . I replied owner not at home
Has called my number twice. First time was unavailable to answer, second time had rang off before I could reach the phone. No message left. Regard it as a scammer.
Said he was calling from BT about my broadband letter which I had recently, and he could help me get a better deal and it would be cheaper for me. Told him my son is dealing with it . and he would contact them when he was ready. Said goodbye and put the phone down
Living in Co Antrim N Ireland this number has called me several times on my landline over the past few days. My partner answered on 24th June. They asked if (my first name) was there. They told him they needed to speak to me as my Broadband contract was about to expire. They said they would ring back on Monday. I tried calling back but the line is dead. I checked my Broadband account and it isn't due to expire anytime soon.
No message just silence. Has called many times before.
Male caller stating BT contract was due of course it isn't
Called hung up when I answered. Number now blocked.
I’ve software on landline that if the caller’s number isn’t in my system and therefore the name isn’t displayed or is shown as withheld or unavailable they have to identify their name etc before my phones ring - if they fail to comply the call is terminated. This number rang earlier today and as never gave any details the call was terminated. Obviously some type of scam , as a genuine caller would have legitimate business to discuss,so number 01438 989233 has now been permanently blocked.
This number calls every day, I never answer and let it go to voicemail. They ever leave a message. I smell a rat!
cold call to my landline claiming to be from BT wanting to talk about contract offer for my mobile. (not with BT). wished to send me a one time code but when asked to tell me what my BT landline account number was they declined citing data protection and terminated call
I am constantly receiving calls from this number, they always hang up, keep hearing voices in background, even heavy breathing, no one speaks ? Very annoying, what i want to know is why?
Woman claiming to be from BT telling me my contract was about to expire ( which it wasn't), I hung up.
I was out when there was a call from this number but there have been calls from this number when there was no reply when I answered.
A woman's voice said "Hello" , when I answered the caller put the phone down. Before speaking to me the caller appeared to be talking to someone else that was with her in person. I have had a few calls from this number now.
Caller waited then hung up. Voices in background, maybe call centre?
Called 14:25 - caller hung up without speaking
Called 17:10 - caller hung up without speaking
Caller claimed current Broadband contract about to end. Wasn't true. But while I was getting paperwork they disappeared.
Phoned twice and hung up twice without speaking.
