01406 436966. Called today at 0910. Claimed to be from BT Internet as they suspected it was being used illegally. We do not have BT Internet. Our phone number is ex-directory and on TPS but we STILL get these annoying calls
Asian lady asking for bank details to refund £119 washing machine insurance! Refused and they hung up! SCAM
Asian female wanting to repay me £119 for washing machine overcharge. had my address and postcode which when I said was wrong she rang off.
Same for me too. Said they were calling from Homecare re overcharged washing machine warranty.
Had our name and an old address - apparently £119 had been taken for a washing machine warranty that we did not request and they needed to refund us asap!
having been up all night with our disabled seriously ill daughter we rushed to answer this at 0930 am, to hear a man speaking a foreign sounding language we did not recognise. Pure harrassment from obvious scammers. please God protect vulnerable people from these criminals.
Home appliance maintenance refund for £119. How lucky am I? This time I even got put through to the senior supervisor. Lovely Asian lady. She’s not pleased with me for wasting her time.
Asian lady said that my bank account had been wrongly debited by the washing machine insureres and I was due a refund of £119. As I was in a supermarket queue I asked her to call again, but on checking my account no such sum has ever been taken.
had the same call this morning re £119 refund due on overpayment for washing machine, told them to put in writing but we kept going round in circles then passed me on to 2 managers again trying to get my bank account number and again going round in circles. I knew this was a scam but thought I'd waste their time like they were wasting mine!!
Got home to find a missed call on this number, so hopefully they won't try again
A "Kevin Smith" with a strong south Asian accent, claiming he was calling from Virgin Media. Virgin Media is not available in our area so shouted Allahu Akbar and hung up.
Scam. Says they are from virgin media (which I don't have) and there's a problem with my network
Claiming to be from virgin media saying there was a problem with my BB speed. I told the woman that she was a scammer at which point she started to be rude so i told her to F-off and hung up. Scamming tunc.
We never get calls on the landline so heart sinks whenever I hear it ring as usually it’s a scammer. This morning we got a call from 02034703216 from a man with an accent similar a local Indian accent. He claimed to be from Virgin Media and asked the usual questions which I’m now totally familiar with e.g. high traffic, how’s your WiFi, check how many lights flashing on the router? WTF?! Have you ever shared your WiFi password, there’s unusual activity etc. Total nonsense but I kept it going to waste his time. Then I told him he’s a fraud and not to call me again and I hung up. 30 seconds later he called me again on another number 01406436966 to interrogate me and asked why I said that! I just hung up again.
01406 436966 called - Unrecognised therefore not answered. They rang off the instant the answerphone cut in, so left no message. Well known scammers, I've blocked this number.
Claimed to be from Virgin Media wanting to “install a firewall”. I kept him talking for 20 minutes to keep him away from someone more vulnerable.
Asian woman saying I was due a refund for an overpayment on appliance insurance. when I said someone had rang before and that I'd reported is a scam she hung up. The previous call went as far as 'can you provide me with your bank details so that I can arrange the refund'!
This guy told me I had over paid my bill for a dish washer which I don't have and never have owned, he very kindly told me he would pay me £119 pounds to my account ! ! Never did get to the end of that conversation a great pity £119 pounds was made to sound OK. WHAT A PRAT. I hung up without even saying bye. BE WARNED.
Appliance warranty, wanted to reimburse me as I’d overpaid, told her where she could go, wanted yo know which account I wanted money to be paid into
Call from a woman from ' BT ' - I said I had just been watching a BBC programme about online and phone scammers - and since this was a cold call and BT are not my suppliers - I hung up. Case of bad timing on her part or what!
Telephone number 01406 436966 called me but did not leave a message. I will not be answering this call, if they call again
Built-in screening on house phone handset, so you have to say who you are and then wait to be connected, so whoever it was, hung up. Blocked the number on the handset from calling me again. As dialling the number from my mobile phone, it's coming up as a 'Spam, potential fraud' alert and the number is actually invalid. So, whoever is calling from this number is upto no good.
Lady with Asian accent called saying she was from BT and I had serious problems with my BT line ( I’m not even with BT) and she would help fix it for me. When I told her I thought she was from a scamming company and to never call me again, she said she would call every day to annoy me and that the police will never be able to catch her. My phone company confirmed it was a scammer. Not sure I need this hassle at the age of 89 and now in future probably would be best for me to hang up straight away.
Indian caller from ‘Virgin Media’. As a customer of VM for over 15 years there was as much likelihood of this being a real call as me being a hat stand. May the directors & staff of Gamma Telecom Holdings (the call originator) be permanently plagued by a perpetual case of treatment resistant haemorrhoids.
Told me they had incorrectly taken payment of £119 for washing machine warranty. Told them I have never had that and hung up.
Said I was due a £119 refund on a washing machine insurance wanted my details I said mail me a check
someone saying I was due a refund of £119.60 on the warranty of my washing machine. I told them this was the 4th refund o it this week so I was going to get a new one with all the money and they could ring me about that warranty as well. I hung up and then had them ring me a further 6 times with them calling me a crazy lady just because I told them I was going to report them for harassment and that I had no business answering the call when it was my partner who they wanted to speak to
Wanted to refund £119 on a washing machine warranty. Asked for the account details to pay into. Told her to use the same account that I had paid from. Said she was the refund department - so I said speak to your collections unit. She said it was a d/d and the information had been deleted. I questioned how they would collect the next premium due. We went round in circles so I asked which town she was calling from - Central London - so I queried why a London phone number was not being used, knowing it was a Holbeach number. She hung up. Obvious scam - there is no warranty anyway, but just wasted her time
01406436966: Minimally competent thieves (I get a lot). Asked for me by name, I responded "who's speaking?", they hung up.
Called about my warranty on my Washing machine . I told him I knew exactly what he was up to and told him I didn't have a washing machine .
Rang at 8.24 Sunday morning. Answered but line went dead. Obvious scam call. Had planned to lead them on, working on the basis that if they are chatting to me, they can't be scamming anyone else....my record is 37 minutes so far!!!
Said they were from Home Appliance Insurance and wanted to repay my washing machine warranty from 2015.
Lady with Asian accent said she was from virgin media to help with my WiFi problems. When I asked her my account number, she hung up. Shame really as I wanted to keep her on the line to waste her time!
no response when I answered just lots of office noise in the background. Then they hung up.
Man with a strong Asian accent phoned on my landline. Said lots of people were accessing my router. Asked me how many devises I had; asked me to search: ‘myIP address location’ obviously I didn’t. I questioned his motives for attempting to scam me, told him his mother would be ashamed of him. He started shouting at me, then I put the phone down. Pensioner 1: Scammer:0
Call from Virgin Media about my broadband speed. Cut off halfway through.
Lady with a strong Asian accent called me from what was obviously a call centre due to noisy background. She said she was from Amazon. She asked me if I’d purchased a gift card for £99. I realised that this must be a scam as Amazon usually send a message or email. I am assuming that she would have wanted bank details ect…….I said goodbye and hung up.
Phoned my work number - caller hung up when i answered
Claimed to be from Virgin media and said i had internet problems. I am not a virgin media customer and he just hung up when I to him so
Guy with strong accent, said his name was James William and he was phoning from Virgin Media about my internet. I don't have Virgin Internet, and he had called an office number. I told him to rethink his life choices and he hung up.
Called at 08:14. Call went to answering machine but no message left. Number is a known scammer.
Went to voicemail, caller hung up. Is there any way telecom can shut this company down. This is not the first call I have had via Gamme Telecom holdings. If is known where these calls are from they should be prosecuted for nuisance calls.
Caller said they were from Amazon. I hung up.
When I answered this number the caller just hung up
Man (with a strong Asian accent, noisy office background) said he was from Virgin Media, said they had received several warning notifications about my WiFi over the last few days, asked if I had given my password to anyone. Call went quiet when I asked what the warnings were for, I hung up.
