2 calls from this number today. Automated voice saying fraudulent activity on my sons nationwide bank account. It's a scam.
Called 3 times in the last week on the landline because of unusual activity on my card. From Nationwide and used my name. Wanted me to respond by pressing a number on my phone, there and then. I called my bank on the number on my card and they had not phoned me and there was no unusual activity on my card. Beware! Always check through another number. They sound very convincing.
This is a curious one: the robo-call purported to be from my bank, about unusual activity on my card. The call correctly named both me and my bank, but something didn't seem right about it, so I hung up and called the fraud via the 0800 number published on the bank's own website. They DID NOT recognise this number, and insisted they would only ever call me via the 0800 number. Plus, they would tend to call my mobile, not my landline, as this robo-caller did. HOWEVER, there was a queried payment on my card, to a company in the US (which I'm fairly sure I'd cancelled a couple of months ago), which HAD put a stop on my card. They cancelled the payment, put a flag on it for future attempts and un-stopped my card... So there WAS an issue they HADN'T informed me about via their usual channels?
It's not a scam but genuinely from the nationwide bank about a payment they have blocked call the bank yourself and see if I am correct!!!!!
Didn't answer when they called, but they left an automated message saying that they were from Nationwide Fraud Team. I called Nationwide back directly and it was actually them trying to inform me of suspicious activity on my account that they had blocked. Seems that this number is legit.
Said they were a bank and that they noticed my card had been used recently. Asked me to press any button for more information. I hung up. They have called twice in the last week.
Caller said there was activity on my bank card. I did not confirm anything and decided to contact my bank using the number on my card instead.
Said they were my Bank and that a transaction had occurred, they want to check my details, and my card has been blocked. I think it is a scam
