Phone call claiming to be from BT Direct saying we needed to be disconnected from our old copper line and put on digital - this was actually done nearly 2 years ago! Asked why he didn't know and was told it hadn't been updated. Why you would you go with someone who supposedly runs the BT phone network infrastructure but can't tell that a digital landline has been put in 2 years ago? Kept going on about getting us on to a better supplier and he could get someone out (we have had problems with the digital line and BT have been useless and expensive) but then quoted us as even more and said it would be an investment. To be honest if you are going to start talking about changing the phone lines over and trying to get us a "better deal" that's more expensive at least get the information right to start with.
Guy called asking is it ok to disconnect our copper line... I said we don't have one. He said he was from BT. Sounded fishy to me.. He then started talking about our phones and saying are system was costing us a lot. He fell apart as he did not know anything technical. I called him out on this Who called me he know about it and tried to get out of it. cold call scam 100%
TELEPHONE: 01246927771 RANG OUR BT LINES, RYAN JOHNSTON SAYING OUR PORTAL IS NOT UPDATED AND OUR PHONES WILL BE SHUT DOWN AS THE ARE NOT DIGTIAL- NOTE WE ARE NOT WITH BT
Fella said he was from BT - doing some infrastructure - we have an old line?? The fact were digital now. Then asking about our phone system and how long we've had it in etc.. Sounds dodgy. Asked him to email. Wanted to speak to director.
Call from Ryan regarding BT lines, asked to provide all information on email - he doesn't work on emails - conversation over.
Ryan - claimed to be from BT but not from sales team so said he could not email. said our handsets were broken and he needed to replace them but would not email and didn't know who the owner's name was. wanted to arrange to swap our equipment as it was faulty
Claimed to be from BT, calling about analogue switchover. Told them we don't have any BT lines, then they switched to claiming we'd been overcharged because they hadn't been informed that we've changed providers. We haven't had any BT lines for over a decade.
