Knew my name and pretended I had life insurance. I asked for the policy number; they attempted to side step. I informed them that I was giving their number to the police. I hung up and blocked.

Received a call today and claimed to be working with DVLA. When I started asking questions, they hung up on me.

Knew my name and car registration - suggested they could get me compensation for buying a diesel car, but the registration quoted is for a petrol car!!! Hung up and blocked. Why/how do these people still operate?

They had details about a car I had sold in July 2015 and knew it was petrol, they asked if I had ever had a diesel. Unsure how they got details. I had bought the car from Mercedees Benz in Preston I sold it to Mazda in Bolton. Has anyone else used either of these dealerships ?

They called two days previously and stated that they were working with DVLA. They had all my personal details including my car registration, home address and name. I terminated the call and blocked the number. However, they continued to bombard me phone call using other numbers.

Claimed to be working from DVLA database about diesel emissions. Knew name of vehicle owner and vehicle registration, but had incorrect mobile number (family member). Hung up when I started trying to find out what they wanted and where they got the number. Very suspicious given that only a few people have been given this number for that person.
