Said they are EDF. Asked about my MPAN number application (I am currently applying for it, they knew my application number (HOW???) and post code. Then sent me an email from email address [email protected] which looks very fimiliar to official EDF emails, but content in email was information that my smart meter doesn't work properly, nothing about MPAN application. Then I spot on this is phising/scam. In email they asked for my last bill and photo of my meter.

Latest of over approx 40+ calls we have had recently, calling from a different number every time. Say they are calling from our energy supplier and then varying to tell us we're out of contract, or problem with our readings or need to replace the meter. It's an enormous nuisance
