0121 599 0117 Negative Who called me from this phone number?

Commenting after reading all other reports. Came up on phone as "Birmingham". Man said he was from Currys, knew my name and that I'd ordered a new controller from Currys, said I will receive email telling me my hour timeslot for delivery soon, to which I replied I had received my parcel. He then asked me to purchase Currys care package, I told him that I already had a care repair package and he said ok have a good day and hung up. I could hear so many people in the background and I contacted Currys website chat who stated " I assure you that this is not the currys contact details and suggest you to be aware of the fraud calls. " So I have no idea if this is 3rd party, safe or unsafe. Either way I have blocked this and will be contacting Currys again to find out what data of mine is being passed on and to whom.

Leave negative feedback or complain regarding this, Curry's is not acting in the best interest of its customers!

Same as others - ordered from curry’s website, and now getting calls. Couldn’t answer as I have been at work, but have in that time had two missed calls and no voicemails left. Blocked for now as it’s annoying, delivery of items not scheduled for another week or so and I don’t want multiple calls a day until then!

It seems to be Curry’s hard sell from previous comments and so I have blocked the number. I have ordered an item from Curry’s that has still to be delivered and so they have my details. for delivery purposes only.

hi , i have just had the same , made an online order last night from currys and now getting this number calling me , i have just been on webchat with currys and asked how my number is being called from this number , they said ignore them and sorry - so i sent them the link to this page , so now i have demanded that they explain to me how my details have been leaked. so now i am waiting for currys to email me with an explanation

I made a purchase from Curry’s online last night at midnight, received a call from this number at 10 am today. Luckily I don’t answer unknown numbers and search here immediately! According to previous comments I am glad I did.

Never answered the call despite them calling 3 times a day for past two days. I don't answer my phone at work and certainly aren't ringing them back. We have just purchased something from Curry's so it's presumably them trying to sell extended warranty. Thing is my number is only the contact for delivery, I never bought the item so there's no point phoning me anyway 🤣

Didn't answer this unknown number but I bought an item from Curry's yesterday & from other comments I assume it was related to this. Puts me off buying online from Curry's again.

Placed an order in the Store in Telford and next day this phonecall. We should receive an email, not a phonecall the salesperson told us.

I didn't answer the call as the number was not known to me but funnily enough I've just received a delivery from Currys. I have now blocked the number.

Placed an order with currys yesterday, received a call from this number today 0121 599 0117. Currys must have sold the information to a third party.

While I didn’t answer this the other respondents say the person (if you do answer) says they are from Curry’s. This could be dangerous if you have recently placed an order with Curry’s (as I have). They have no reason to call me and I wonder how the caller got my mobile? Do Curry’s have a security issue?

I received a call from this number 26.08.2021 at 19:09 hrs and didn't answer it, just checked the number on here. However I too have recently placed an order with Curry's/PcWorld, online, so it seems something is not secure on their website.

Had a call from this number about a currys/pc world order that was due to arrive. They wanted to know full name and address for data protection. When I asked why he said it was just to make sure he was speaking to the right person. When I said I’d never had to do this before on other orders from currys/pc world they said ‘if you don’t feel comfortable with this call you can call us’ and hung up.

I am concerned after seeing the number of pepole who have been called from number and pretending to be from Currys. I have only placed an order with them yesterday and it is worrying to think someone has access to this information at Currys

What the hell Currys doing to save their customers?? They know it that some parasites are playing in their names but would not care ??.

I had this as well, they didn't ask for any personal details they were just trying to sell insurance on the product I had ordered, so I said I wasn't interested and then hung up

I had a call from this number and he congratulated me on my purchase from curry’s and I would I like to take out a care plan so I signed up. He then phoned back on 01501 527011 and it was the same bloke. NatWest confirmed it’s a scammer so beware, I moved my money out of my account the moment he phoned back the second time

I made an order with curry's 2 days ago and i have been receiving calls from this number I haven't answered them as by reading everyone else's comments it seems to be a scam. So the number has been blocked.

Just got a call from 0121599 0117 - didn't answer it as I didn't recognise the number. Interesting that I have also just ordered something from Currys. This needs to be investigated and will not buy from Currys again

Man called today at 4.05 pm saying they were from Curry’s and asked if I had purchased anything from them recently I told him no we haven’t purchased anything for at least 2 -3 years so he asked for my address I only gave him the first line and I told him I was writing everything down and he said the address was not the one he had on his records so I said that’s it then and I closed the call .

Received a call from this number this afternoon. Knew my name and strangley recent order placed with Currys. When asked which branch they're based at, the male caller hung up. The scam I assume is get your personal details, etc. If you decide to purchase protection plan they also obtain financial details and then they go shopping on you!

Knew what I had orderd and my details from my recent currys purchase, my guess is details have been sold/given to a 3rd party for warranty and other all sorts. Lady wasnt pushy but was a pay X and get Y kind of call.

Have called me twice within the last few days but I never answer unknown phone numbers (they can leave a message if its important). I have ordered from Currys in the last couple weeks so this matches up with other comments. Concerning how they would get this information. I will block the number.

Called me twice, I declined call as out of the country. I made a recent order from Curry's PC World. Sounds like insider information.

Exactly what happened. They asked me to confirm my address and date of birth. Which I did. Mistake on my end. I thought they actually were currys as they knew my order and when I placed it. They tried selling me warranty to which I said I'll think about it and go to the store to purchase.

As above. Trying to sell protection plan on recently purchased product. Already declined as part of the purchase process. Heavy sell as these policies earn more for Currys than the margin on the item sold.

Update. It's not a scam. It's literally curry's trying to offer you a protection plan / extra insurance on your products. Which you've already declined while making the order?! It just them trying to make extra money as all business does.

I haven't answered the calls. But very strange as I've also ordered recently from curry's. I will be making a complaint about this. No other company I know does this?

Am recieving calls daily from this number after recent purchase from currys. Def will not answer due to other comments. If you call it its currys. Its crazy how they are spamming customers. Must have lost the plot.

It’s a ruse... firstly they ask your name and address, then secondly give you info regarding delivery times etc and then when you think that’s itc they’re offering you their “care and repair” plan. Once I politely declined i was promptly hung up on!

This is odd that people are saying that the caller says they are from Currys but they aren’t - I was waiting for a laptop to be delivered that I had ordered from Currys and this number was calling me as the delivery driver was walking to my door with my laptop . I don’t answer calls I don’t know anyway and searched the number and came across this site.

Received call purporting to be from Currys regarding a recent order. Not Currys.

Put an order with currys yesterday and started receiving calls today. I didnt answer but going off everyone else its a scam so I will be blocking them. Also weird how everyone on here only got their calls after putting in a currys order. Shame on you currys if you have sold our details :@

This number contacted me today saying they were from curry’s. They asked me to confirm my details in which I did not and asked what it was about and they had the details of what I had ordered! He said he would email me about it as I explained to him that with this time of year I get a lot of non-legit calls and did not feel comfortable giving my details out. I’m yet to receive that email but it’s clear that it wasn’t curry’s. It’s scary to think they knew what I had ordered and therefore can be very deceiving!

Claiming to be curry’s and knew about my order. Asking personal details such as name and full address. Refused to give the information and said that if they were from curry’s they would have that information. Clearly a scam! Do not give information!!

They could be tracking your browser. Most likely through an extension or some other way spyware

Received 2 missed calls today on the 9th of Dec, I’ve ignored both calls and decided to look into this and I also match the comments I’ve seen. The number has only just started contacting me once my Currys order was delivered yesterday

I have just had 2 missed calls from this number I had no clue who it was but it does fit in with these other messages saying it was Curry's as I have recently bought a product from them, pain in the rear who are now bloçked.

Just received a call from this number, lady said she was from Curry’s Pc World. She knew what I had ordered so I imagine Curry’s have sold my info onto a 3rd party and she was trying to sell me finance and warranty, I said not interested and she wasn’t pushy just said bye and hung up

Just had a call from this number claiming to be Curry's, asked me to confirm security information over the phone to update me about new covid measures, said if I searched the number it would show up as Curry's as a bluff, clearly a scam as no reason to phone and number not registered with Curry's

Just recieved a call from them, knowing full details of an order I actually had made, and wanting me to confirm some details. I refused and put the phone down. Did a quick internet search and it seems the call wasn't legitimate (though worrying that they got the order correct!)
